You probably earned a +4 on the retort, but i'm going to be conservative and just give a +1 on this.

...also, anyone, quite literally, anyone who doesn't appreciate the boomerang addition is either not using it effectively or just a negative person. That's it.

I wouldn't be so sure about that!

BogusMeatFactory wrote: The roster is not bad. There are 5 baby characters and 7 koopa kids, all of which have varying weight classes and look different. Pink Gold Peach...not the best choice...but there are tons of other options. It is not as if you have that as your only option.

Yes, in a world where you have no obstacles, no items and no one to play against, a faster vehicle is preferable. What is your point? A slower vehicle should do better in a time trial?
The main roster problem is likely a matter of sticking to Mario game characters. Not sure what else they'd have to work with that wouldn't wind up being worse (like Mario in different suits or an array of colored Yoshis). If/when they expand to include other Nintendo properties, then tossing in odd stuff like the metal characters would be more annoying.

I think the vehicle traits are more general than just time trials. Once you figure out a line, and can run it consistently, where do the lower max speed characters/vehicles fit? Even in a GP race, it just comes down to luck with items to keep up with them.

An annoyance I've found is that there's no trophy room or whatnot to check stickers. You can, I guess, try to find them by opening up the Miiverse post thing...but if I just want to quick check which Time Trials I haven't gotten them from yet or something, I haven't seen a good way to do it.

Haven't been keeping up with this thread, so I don't know if it's already been discussed, but...

I just played multiplayer (offline) for the first time. The screen is split vertically with no option to change it to horizontal.

I really dislike vertical split screen. I can't believe there's no option to make it horizontal!

Any negative thing I've said about the game so far has just been minor things I don't really care about. This, though, is a huge problem for me. Multiplayer makes Mario Kart a million times more fun, and this is a huge bust for me.

I myself think on a 16:9 TV that vertical makes way more sense, on 4:3 I use to hate it, but I prefer it now, but the choice should be there.

There is still the hope they will patch the game in the future. Nintendo have been pretty good with patching regarding costumer feedback. They added classic controller support for NSMBWU, they just recent added the ability to play Pikmin 3 with the stylus.

There is still hope.

2 Staff ghosts left to beat for gold wheels, and both are Rainbow road....

The new Rainbow road i hate, but pretty sure i can do the N64 one within a few tries.

So what is the best character and kart to use?
Or is it just personal preference. I have not yet figured out if I want a kart that handles well or higher traction. For the 1500cc races I do think I need one that accelerates more since I make more mistakes than I do on the slower courses.

Loving Bikes right now more than Karts, but its really all preference, although i like my speed to always be the highest stat.
