What was the last movie you've seen?

Continuing the discussion of sci fi, just got back from seeing:

Edge of Tomorrow

Basically Groundhog Day as a sci fi military movie. Everything really comes together with it, and it was a great ride from start to finish.

Was going to catch The Edge of Tomorrow today but apparently it isn't doing well around here. There are a total of 4 showings at the local cinema a day two standard, and two 3d both at weird times :P.

I Hate how critics are saying the same thing. Tom is no Bill Murray, and the script is no where near as clever.

Apples and oranges.

When I screened this I thought it was maybe the worst movie I have ever watched. It was on tv and I half watched it as I was working on a spreadsheet for work.

No regrets from my first review. It is indeed one of the worst movies I've ever screened or watched. None of it makes a lick of sense and it is downright terrible in every way. The characters, the acting, the plot, the effects...it all is horrible.
Huh odd, I remember watching it and enjoying it...I might have to rewatch it since I have the dvd that my dad bought of it. Especially if we're talking the one that came out within the past few years

Corny, crazy, lovely.

It's a classic. DOOM has the sense of humor that Goonies had, plus the intensity of the trash compactor scene from a New Hope, over and over and over and over. It keeps a smile on your face while leaving you on the edge of your seat, even after repeat viewings.

The effects haven;t aged well, but here's the thing: that doesn't matter as the story more than makes up for it, and the movie relies on the story, not the effects.

Not many movies make you WANT and WISH to be the lead. Hot damn, this movie (and ARK) make me want to be Doctor Jones, even if he was named after the dog ;
Ohhhh Ark.

How many people have realized/read online/etc the fact that the good guys do absolutely nothing in Ark, in the end. Their existence does not affect the final outcome in any way! If Indy hadn't been there, then the Nazis would have gotten the Ark, and... would... have... melted.

Waitaminute. That's exactly what happened! Actually, if Indy hadn't been there, MORE Nazis might have melted as they kept trying to investigate it!

Even though I love Ryan Reynolds the movie was down right horrible in most aspects especially the effects.

I'd still say that this flick suffers from the sappy ending syndrome that has afflicted Hollywood for generations.

Did they change the (somewhat illogical) book ending then?
Which is to say, Tom Cruise's character didn't have to kill Emily Blunt's in order to win?
