Checked it out on Netflix. Not the worst movie I have ever seen but pretty odd Godzilla wise. Guess that is one easy way to pump in a bunch of monster fights without having to explain whats going on.

With godzilla, did you ever really need to explain what was going on? That is something the western media has always had an issue with. We always want origin stories and can't wrap our brains around something if we don't get that, even if it is poorly done. That was a big issue with the matthew broderick Godzilla, aside from the comedy relief, was the awkward origin story.

Anyone who has ever watched the show "Once Upon a Time" cannot realistically be accused of snobbery.

Maybe that is why this film was a little odd in comparison to the other older Godzilla movies I have been watching recently. Because they felt the need to explain why such a place existed by making it all part of a child imagination. Hell the lead bad guy is even explained since he is a representation of a bully who exists in the real world :P.

What I mean earlier is it gets complicated trying to steam roll 10+ monsters into a standard flick since they don't exactly line up in an orderly fashion to fight and destroy the city.

Check out Starship Troopers Invasion. It's CGI but they did a really good job with it. Watched it on Netflix a while back.

Thanks I'll give it a whirl.

T2: Skynet Edition

First time to sit through the whole HD outing. Enjoyed all the deleted scenes, but I don't believe it was necessary to include the sappy ending, especially considering all the other sequels.

I watched recently "Once upon a time in the West". Very glad I spent the almost 3 hours.

That was part of the Ultimate Edition cut that came out a few years before T3 did (I don't think it had even been announced at that point). So at the time the ending was fine, and I doubt they wanted to recut the film again just to remove an ending that no longer fits in with the overall series. Maybe it's from the future after Sarah Conner Chronicles.

Well I guess i'm the only one in this thread that enjoys OUAT  don't know why but I enjoy both it and OUATIW...don't judge me but they're great shows. Though I do have to admit I'm into a lot of anime and even arrow(I've still yet to see more info on the flash spin off yet).

Sadly though the last movie I've seen is kung fu panda....again. Well at least part of it....now that i have a ps3/4 and really useful to watch movies in my bed room. Though going to try and see some of the newer movies when they hit the 1.50 movie theater here...I'll save my money that way

ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS

Not a great movie, but it makes for a great time. Peter Falk, the Rat Pack and lines including "I've got a hunch, so I'll bet you a bunch". Again, not a great movie, but if you want to be transported to the days when men wore spats and sleeve garters (which should come back in style), and didn't mind breaking into verse, this is the movie for you.

A must see if you like Blue eyes.

TEMPLE OF DOOM

Corny, crazy, lovely.

It's a classic. DOOM has the sense of humor that Goonies had, plus the intensity of the trash compactor scene from a New Hope, over and over and over and over. It keeps a smile on your face while leaving you on the edge of your seat, even after repeat viewings.

The effects haven;t aged well, but here's the thing: that doesn't matter as the story more than makes up for it, and the movie relies on the story, not the effects.

Not many movies make you WANT and WISH to be the lead. Hot damn, this movie (and ARK) make me want to be Doctor Jones, even if he was named after the dog ;

GREEN LANTERN

When I screened this I thought it was maybe the worst movie I have ever watched. It was on tv and I half watched it as I was working on a spreadsheet for work.

No regrets from my first review. It is indeed one of the worst movies I've ever screened or watched. None of it makes a lick of sense and it is downright terrible in every way. The characters, the acting, the plot, the effects...it all is horrible.

Kick Ass 2

Well, it was good in a B-movie action and crude jokes sense, but nowhere as good as the first one. New director and pulling away from the comics seems to have hurt it quite a bit.

Agreed was one of the last films I had a chance of watching at the local dollar theater before it went out a few years back :P. Probably the worst big budget super hero movie of the last decade or so :P.
