Star Wars: The Old Republic - $1.50

That's the MMORPG, FYI, not the standalone game which is Knights of the Old Republic (or KOTOR II).

It is also now free to download / play and utterly horrid.

TI-99/4A - $15
As you can see it came with a frack-ton of paperwork, enough to rival the weight of the system. If you're wondering, no, I don't really know if it works. It turns on, but there was nothing for me to hook it up to and no software/games to test it on even if I could.

The system itself looks to be in great shape (though the box has seen better days), so I took a chance on it. If nothing else it's an interesting piece of gaming history and the earliest system I have ever come across in the wild.

If anyone has any suggestions, pointers or can give me a good idea of the best way to hook this bad boy up, feel free to let me know.

Very nice, looks pristine! It should have come with a video cable which hooks up to the TV just like a game console. You can even get game carts for that 8 bit Texas Instruments computer.

I have been buying SNES games CIB, but this one was too pricey to get in the box. Ah well since BookOff dropped the price to twenty bucks for a round of Mario games, not too bad a deal.

I had the 5200 version forever, finally after all these years picked up the best version for the 2600 paddle spinner.

Two uncommon 7800 games, a nice discovery sitting on the 2600 game cart shelf! I have been curious about Scrapyard Dog, bought for the histrorical significance of the NES bringing the 7800 out under Jack Tramiel. The game is supposed to be Atari's late game answer to the Nintendo Mario?

Another copy and again missing only the outer sleeve. Inside everything is there including both discs, manual, bonus book, Samsung Perfect Dark flyer and another collector card.

I actually passed up on this even knowing about the orange band on the bottom of the cover. What was wrong with me, went back the next day to get this game with the bonus making of disc.

DVD Get Lamp - $3.00 BookOff
Never even heard of this but really looks interesting! DVD has extensive history coverage on early Adventure games on computers, even before DOS! The opening Menu has a Mainframe Terminal scrolling text, a nice affect. In addition to the different videos, there are also games on the disc to try on a modern PC. Two DVDs full of vintage stuff to explore including a deep look into the early days of Infocom! Unfortunately the collector coin was not inside.

What you see pictured here is some of the DVD packaging for the independently produced documentary film about text adventure games, Get Lamp. In the digital age, packaging matters and the creators of Get Lamp went above and beyond in creating a DVD package that satisfies collectable object fetishists like myself. The inner gatefold sleeve is covered with a nostalgic fantasy illustration that looks like it came straight off of an Atari 2600 cartridge. The DVD also came with a fancy numbered and editioned coin (mine's number 1540), which would seem kind of cheesy (alá the tin coin that came Ultima V) but is actually very well crafted and, dare-I-say cool. All this comes together in a well made cardboard DVD case that alone almost justifies the $40+ dollar price tag. Thankfully, the film is very good and, as one might expect, the discs contain the usual DVD extras, featurettes and bonus footage. As an added reward, you also get a nice selection of actual, playable games on the DVD -ROM partition of the disc. If you have any interest in text adventures, video games and computing history, you should check this out! More on the film itself later.

2 N64s (expansion paks, crap thumbsticks) & some lame games

That looks like Snowboard Kids at the front of the N64 games. If so, I would argue that you definitely walked away with a gem. Nice haul overall!

You know, I didn't realize how pricey Snowboard Kids has gotten. I was never the biggest N64 guy. I was a Playstation guy in those days so I missed out on a lot of the library. It's always nice to pick up something for cheap I have never played only to realize it kicks ass. Being that I haven't played a ton of 64 games, this happens most frequently with that system. I'll definitely give it a shot tonight.

Like many I was so excited for The Old Republic I couldn't stand it. About a year before release I was even signed up to get e-mail updates on the progress, and I HATE junk mail. Soon as I saw the finished product with that kind of Clone Wars art style and color palette (at least the footage I saw) I was pretty much out. Weak.

Ok, just seems like that was nearly useless to buy since it won't have a free month unless it was never used and there will be so many updates that installing from the disc won't save much time even if the game just prompts you to create a billing account once you get it going.
