Anyone have an iphone?

Post by NathanBarnatt »

How do you like it? Did anyone have to quit their contract early with another network to get it? I have Verizon and would have to cancel early and I wanna get around the $175 cancelation fee.

I don't yet but I'm strongly considering it. Unfortunately in Canada you can't get unlimited data. I'm not sure the 2gb/ month will be sufficient.

As for the cancelation fee, I know it sucks but $175 isn't TOO bad if you're switching for an iphone and comparable plan. Nevertheless give Verizon a call. I was able to get out of a cancelation fee by just asking "is there any way to avoid this?" It might largely depend on the rep you get on the phone.

or you can unlock it and use it on the verizon network... if you like them. My buddy has verizon and he uses an iPhone for it. He's even works at Apple... heh.

I have one. I like it. You really have to use one first before panning it because it doesn't have a 1 gajillion billion million pixel camera. I compared the iPhone on the specs sheet to other phones and was like wtf? Whats the point? The iPhone sucks. Then I used one and was blown away with how easy it is to use. Having the internet anywhere, in a proper browsable format and with an interface that makes it effortless to use is priceless for me.

I'd definitely try it before you change contracts. IF you hate it you hate it, buy another phone.

Got one about a month ago and it's freaking FANTASTIC. Seriously, having the full-blown Web in your pocket is life-changing.

I didn't have to pay a fee as I was month-to-month with Sprint at the time. Switching is easy as hell, too. Just get a copy of your latest bill and take it to AT&T. I walked out with the same number tied to my iPhone 20 minutes later and never heard another word from Sprint.

The App Store is awesome and there's hundreds of free apps to choose from. Lots of other great ones are 99 cents.

Games are coming along nicely on the iPhone, though the best are the ones that aren't trying to be console or DS/PSP games, but ones that use the input and touch screen wisely.

I know I definitely want one. i have an ipod touch and love it. it would be nice to just have one thing in my pocket instead of 2. I went to apple today and AT&T said i had to pay a $500 down payment since I dont have credit which is weird cause i've had a cell phone for a while now. We'll see what happens. yeah the apps and games are awesome. i played a road rash ike game today and that pretty much sold me on it.

Oh. My. God. $500?! Are you serious?

When I took my first contract out at 18 I had to pay a refundable £50 for the first 3 months. It was a security payment just to make sure that I haven't given fraudulent details whatever. That's fine but $500!?

my cousin has one and loves it. However I hear (from a professor) that his blackberry storm is superior. I use a 10 dollar samsung and am happy. Just bought my girlfriend a 160 dollar samsung though (for texting) and ironically one of my little cousins (she's 13) just received such a phone as well.
