AOL CDs, useful once again.

Or if one bought a Nickelback or Alanis Morrisette CD in a fit of drunken stupidity. :P

Jagged Little Pill has a multitude of uses. Everything from keeping your xbox drive working, freaking people out with the extended version of You Outta Know, or just leaving harassing messages for Dave Coulier. I'm glad to have it in my collection.

I always take games out of my systems before putting them away. Seems like leaving a game in won't be a bad thing.
No problem.

It seems this issue is typically caused by dry/dirty rubber strap in the eject tray mechanism.

You have to take apart the optical drive and replace the strap. It is recommended you use exactly the same size as using too tight will strain the gears.

Boiling the straps works too but it is only short term. I read somewhere that teeth brace rubber bands make the best replacement strap but could never get my hands on those :p

I once left a game disc over night in my Wii. Even though it was turned off, when I ejected the disc the next morning it was as hot as a coffee warmer. Not sure if the 360 or even the older Xbox has this issue, but they do have the same "standby off switch". I do leave a HDAdvance disc in my PS2 permanent, but it has a hard switch shut off in the back.

I don't think I would chance a CDR or PC disc; unnecessary wear of the laser trying to find the data when closing the tray. Even turning it off, that few seconds with a non game disc will cause the laser eye to kick around.

 Boiling the belt can't be good for the rubber anyways. All the work involved taking the drive apart, might as well replace the belt at that stage.

Hmm I said boil? I think the original instructions said "let soak in hot water till it is cool".
I fully agree you might as well replace the strap but then I went to the local part store and did not have the right size so I ended up doing the hot water trick.

Which worked for a month or two. Then I put the unit in storage and when I took it out a year later it was stuck again
