Speaking of Transistor, have you done any of the speed trials yet? I finished the first one, but
the second one is giving me fits. Especially since your function load out it pre-set.
The trials are all garbage. The fact that the game chooses your abilities for you is BS. I beat the second boss (that stupid Spine creature) and I still think the game sucks and that Supergiant Games are just a bunch of hacks if I'm being completely honest. Their games are all gimmicky, style over substance games.

I don't even know what's going on in the story, because I honestly don't care and tuned out the stupid, gimmicky narrator ages ago. He's obnoxious.

As for the second trial, just kill the four tentacle things in turn mode with the Get skill, then get as close to the Jerk thing as possible, activate turn mode and then spam Flood, then just keep hitting the lady with Get, then activate turn mode when the cells are everywhere and pick them up while the clock is frozen, just make sure to kill the one 10 hp thing that pops up afterwards. It takes luck to beat this test, and you'll take a lot of cheap hits because the game design is crap, like the whole game in general

Child of Light, Mercenary Kings, Transistor...all not very good. I've officially given up on PS4 indie titles. They all suck. Time for me to go back to retail games made by REAL game developers.

Oh, and fair warning, Transistor crashed my PS4 THREE TIMES, forcing it into safe mode after I turned in back on to rebuild my files.

It's the only game I've had this happen with

I'm pretty sure I'm on the path to the "true ending" now, remains to be seen if what occurs is legit "mind blowing". Nothing in this game so far has been of that degree, but I'm giving it the benefit of a doubt until I finish this second time through.
The puzzles in the escape sections are also really entertaining.
As someone who has finished dozens of adventure games throughout the ages, I find the puzzles in this game to be rather banal.

So I'm playing Batman on the NES for the first time and, jesus. I'm really enjoying the game and I know I'll get better at it, but the second boss is stonewalling me! I can already tell it's a great licensed game though.

Sunsoft shines once again, really all of this game is pretty fresh.

Well I haven't played many adventure style games so I don't have much to compare them to honestly. But the whole way the plot is laid out in front of you with so many mysteries surrounding everyone really grabbed from the beginning.

I just got a Wii-U so I'm playing Super Mario 3d World (it's fantastic) and slowly getting through Conception II on the PS Vita.

But... but.... Greg Kasavin...

I've never played any of their games before, but Greg K. was always my favorite reviewer (him and Gerstmann) back before GameSpot started to suck. On an unrelated note, thank god for Giant Bomb.

Bought this game and played it for about a half hour. Saved the game in the middle of a bunch of text and.......well I hope it gets better. I enjoy puzzles and I enjoy point and click games, but the production values so far are pretty crappy. I don't mind a lot of talking and text, but with no music, no fast forwarding the scrolling text, and next to zero animation? That's something different. Just sitting there in silence looking at stills while the text scrolls a little too slowly puts me to sleep.

Again, very early first impressions, but so far this seems like if Atlus wanted to make "Escape The Room" for the DS and only had 3 months to make it.

Atlus didn't make it, Spike Chunsoft (or one half of it before they merged) did

I picked this up recently. I have no issue with reams of text, and I absolutely expected that anyway, so I'm interested to see if and how my opinion differs from you two.
