Being burned by HostGator makes even harder to make a leap of faith like that. We tried this once and ended up in a worse spot than if we had just stayed in Louisiana the first time. Things are finally starting to look up here, so I'm not sure if I could risk it all again.

I've already turned down the offer, but I let him know that I was still interested in the company if I ever do make my way back to Texas.

Commuting wouldn't work, as we are on the east side of Louisiana and Rackspace is further west in Texas. Also, I don't know if I could spend that much time away from my kid.

Seeing that Kit's manager may want her move to the Texas market anyway makes me want to wait and see what happens with her job.

Rackspace is a different kind of company than HostGator. They are consistently listed as a top 10 company. But you gotta do what you feel comfortable with.

Smile: None of your business.

No really, Smile: I won't have to wake up at 4am tomorrow morning, which was the plan until a meeting today where I learned I don't have to drive a long drive to a certain city.

Smile: I will be doing the same none of your business I did this morning as soon as I get home. And I am a huge fan of none of your business.

You must be in the really deep south because I don't see much of that here in union county, in north carolina

"Black people and white people are different. We do business differently with black people. I mean, hey, there isn't a "White Biker week". It's just "biker week". Let 'em do black things the black way they want to".

....so yeah. I'm either really, really dumb (can't be the case) or very progressive and could give three strikes at a pinata at what pigment people sport.

This isn't a soapbox rant, this is me saying... "Wow. Really?"

Huh I've never heard something like that about biker week, but then again I usually don't pay attention to it whenever I am near myrtle beach...

Racism is still everywhere, just not as rampant as Luke stated. I have seen less of it in middle of no where Tennessee than I did when I was traveling through Upstate New York.

Its technically a racist comment, but I hear things like that so often it doesn't even phase me. Most of the black people I know don't pay anything like that any attention usually, either because they are used to it, or don't necessarily see it as racist.

:) So close to done with school, I can feel it. Its a bit bittersweet because certain things are going to be left unfinished or unsaid, but otherwise, I'm ready to be the hell away from here.

:D - Just noticed that somehow on my final paycheck from my previous location at harris teeter that somehow I ended up getting paid for 8.25/hour instead of 8/hour ha ha at least that's why it says anyways.

:? - profit sharing is listed on the same check but for some odd reason has a 0 in current but in YTD has a value listed there. That shouldn't even be remotely possible since I haven't seen a single dime deposited anywhere from it....and still a little unsure what I'm going to end up getting as my final pay rate for the new place since I saw that 8.25 even though it could change when the new check pops up...man this is confusing >_<

Same with rural Vermont. In the populated area (literally, there's basically one), you won't find much, but 90% of the landmass is wilderness, and I've seen more racism there than anywhere else I've been.
