good protective case for the original GBA?

Post by ninjainspandex »

I just recently got an awesome backlit modded GBA-001, you know the original that is far more comfortable than the SP. The thing is in immaculate shape and I wish to keep it this way and the original GBA screen is notorious for getting scratched. I thought I could just put it in my psp-1000 neoprene soft case that came with the system, but alas the gba is slightly too tall for it to fit. Anyone have good alternatives, I'd like something slim that can fit comfortably in my pocket, so no hard shell cases.

Dont do it!, just keep like a microfiber over it when not in use.

Also if yours has the replacement glass screen, its less likely to be scratched.

if you go the fleamarket route, you can still find some soft carrying cases for them.

I still find some gameboy color soft cases and some plastic ones. There's a lot of old
pokemon logo cases too.

Sometimes they are mixed up with purses and bags. Other times i've seen them mixed in with stuffed animals/toys.

They should be worth a dollar or two.

Just keep an eye out for them.

I've used this case since getting my GBA around the time it was released:

It's kept my GBA's screen scratch-free. And while it won't fit in your pocket, it does have velcro straps on the back, so you could wear it on your belt like a fanny pack. I have no idea where to find one these days, though.
My games for sale: Racketboy, Amazon, eBay

When fleamarket/garage sailing, look for soft sunglass cases

That's awesome, I received my artic blue one about 1-2 weeks ago. I really enjoy my SP but I just love the form of the original GBA. This is basically the best of both worlds and wasn't really that expensive. You don't have to worry as much about scratches since I'm going to assume yours has the glass screen installed on it.

Haha, I used to have that same case when I was younger. The memories!
