With all the doubt of confirmation of shipping with Amazon I wasn't sure if I should wait to see what happens or grab one from a local shop that's getting it this Thursday. Still debating it though, especially if they can't fill all the pre-orders at Amazon.
Amazon is going to honor all lower pre-order prices, so if you got in at $99 (or cheaper as some people have reported on Facebook), I think it's still worth the wait.

Yeah I'm not even going to bother to check my local game store. No way I could beat the launch day buyers or resellers anyway.

Retron 5 will get here when it gets here.

It's not like they will stop making them and you already own every system it supports. It's the very definition of a luxury upgrade... one you can easily outlast the hype train on.

People said the same thing about the Messiah clones. I see your point though.

If the Retron 5 functions as well as previews indicate Hyperkin will produce an absolute shitload. They are going to make a killing off of this. It won't be rare. At all.

I'm actually getting half tempted to buy one of these now....despite all the issues with my small space that would eliminate the need for so many consoles until I move(eventually). Though to be honest it sounds like it might be worth it to wait a month or two until they release the inevitable first update or two to the system...

Let's hope so. I'm looking forward to their future DOSbox product.

Yeah, space is one of the reasons I'll be picking this up as I'll be away from home for an extended amount of time due to my job and the living arrangements are small.I could grab the R5 with a handful of carts and have plenty to play.

Exactly, though I already have a good bit of carts but I do know one thing, unless they have it confirmed I doubt my repros will work at least not the way they intend anyways ha ha. Though it might be interesting to see what happens once some of the disc based systems patents expire to see what hyperkin will attempt with those if it's even possible ha ha

They already said somewhere that production is going to be ramped up after this intial shipment. Also hearing rumors of the first firmware update coming soon.
