PSP emulation

Post by Gamerforlife »

Okay, so I have some custom firmware on my PSP. Where can I get some good emulators, roms and CFW updates, etc. Sure, I could google it, but you get so many random hits and can't tell what sites are worth it, what does/doesn't work, etc. People on this forum generally know what the hell they're talking about so I thought I'd ask

Thanks, I actually did manage to find myself a few working roms. Capcom's Cadillacs and Dinosaurs on the PSP is FREAKING SWEET!! Got Comix Zone for the Genesis too. You guys have any ROM recommendations? Particularly of the arcade beat'em up variety

cps2psp has some great arcade roms available
also mvs2psp...you can find some packages with compatible roms already included and setup if you
look around a bit.

The Capcom emulators rock!! I've got Aliens vs Predator, Battle Circuit and D&D:Shadow over Mystara!!

A few negatives though, there doesn't seem to be any emulators that run some of Konami's best stuff like Simpsons Arcade and X-Men Arcade. In fact, MAME4ALL doesn't seem to have the best selection.

I've also been wanting to play Sengoku 3, but getting the Neo Geo emulator to run seems a bit tricky

The Picodrive does Genesis games fantastically, however SNES9x is running games slow as shit for reason. Maybe I need newer custom firmware. I understand Sega CD games can be emulated too on the Picodrive, so I want to try and figure out how to do that

I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I remember that the best version of the snes emulator (snestyl or something along those lines) was coded for the 1.5 kernel ,meaning it will only work on the old fat psp.

Fantastic!

I've got Sonic CD and Sengoku 3 running. Plus a ton of Sega Genesis and Nintendo games. Awesome.

I wish they'd do something about Mame though. There's practically nothing available. If it weren't for those awesome Capcom emulators and the Neo Geo stuff, the PSP would be seriously lacking in arcade emulation. And as for the SNES, I'm going to keep tinkering and see if I can get those games running properly. That kind of sucks too.

Still, the emulation capabilities of the PSP are pretty cool, aside from Mame and SNES, just about everything else seems to run just fine. I love it! Guess I can close this thread
