AVGN still has its hilarious moments & I really like James. He wants to be a film maker & AVGN was his first step, his film is just the next step. I don't think he expects it to be a hit or make a ton of money off it. If you've watched his videos you can probably tell film making is his true passion not video games, but there is nothing wrong with that. People hate him & want to blame him for all sorts of dumb stuff but he is just doing his thing & that has turned out to be popular & some people resent him for that alone. I'm surprised at how many of you are "above" his videos. His reviews are not actual reviews, they are comedy skits meant to be facetious. For all of you people saying "those games aren't that bad, he is being dumb"- it is called a joke; I'm sure none of you ever intentionally blew something out of proportion in an attempt to be funny. Of course he has some bad/over-the-top jokes but so does every comedian (and so do you), including your favorites. James has good timing & delivery & that is a lot more than you can say of most youtubers.

For Fred Fuchs sake!

Yes I do believe James has had a big influence on retro gaming though I can't say how much influence he had on me personally.

James definitely seems to get his share of detractors of this site. Regardless, I still consider him to be one of the early driving forces to the explosion of popularity retrogaming has gone through since around 2005/2006.

To be completely honest...I've wanted to try every game he's reviewed and said was horrid(except superman64...just don't want to looks unfinished). As well I kinda think the bugs reviews were a little off since those games are decent. They sure don't make a top 10 for controls any day but they aren't half bad to be honest...

Once in a blue moon I'll buy a sixer of Rolling Rock and spend an hour watching AVGN's stuff, including his awesome short DEATH PUPPY.

But this:

..it simply doesn't look fun.

Never judge a movie by a trailer, but usually trailers include the best jokes and action parts of a movie. Not so much for this, hopefully.

And that's why trailers are so terrible these days. They give away too much.

Or in the cases of movies like Lockout, the teaser gave away the only good part of the movie. *sigh*

Tv shows do the same thing sadly especially with the cartoon network shows(which now unless it's possibly pokemon which I need to catch up on...but I'm so far behind i might as well find dvd's). But honestly most of the shows on there are stupid, and other shows besides maybe arrow, not much is on. Probably a good thing I don't watch the commercials for that...it might reveal too much...(the other stuff doesn't even air in america unless you somehow have a anime channel or even funimation)
