Over here, Gamestop employees are usually the BRO gamer-types who play whatever is labeled as "hardcore" at the time. Other times, they are females who generally know nothing about gaming. Although there is this hot redhead at Gamestop who knows her shit, goes to conventions, and does the whole cosplay thing. (Don't tell my fiancee' I said she's hot though. )

Play N Trade is where I go if I want some friendly gaming conversation. Which isn't often, to tell the truth. I get my gaming chatting done here.

Don't get me wrong, I have found a few good employees at stores. It
is just aggravating to be chastised for my choices by the staff and I
will not be returning until they have cycled there staff again –
usually every four to five months…

I know Ive said this a couple times before but my local Play and
Trades have provided some of the best retail experiences I have had in
recent years. Not only do the managers know me by name, one called me
when something I had been looking for was traded in (it helps that it
is five minutes from work). They may have some whacked out prices
sometimes ($100 for a Super Famicom, $15 for Mario/Duck Hunt), but
there are some deals to be had ($50 for Arkanoid DS Japanese version,
$4 for Contra). Sure I still go for the lowest price, but the fact
that my closest PnT puts the price labels under the plastic on the
case instead of on it, well it makes me just that much more likely to
shop with them.

For those interested, that's a pretty well made list of upcoming Wii games. Some of the titles in there seem pretty laughable I admit, but there are quite a few very promising looking titles there as well, and the best part is most of them are third party. The lack of proper third party support has been the Wii's real downfall up to this time, since developers think they can get away with churning out shovelware for the system because of the huge market of uninformed and 'casual' Wii owners. Nintendo has been completely holding the Wii afloat minus a few 3rd party titles like Zack & Wiki, De Blob, Trauma Centre, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and No More Heroes.

Funnily enough I think the Wii has the best 2009 lineup out of all three consoles (PS3 in close second). And it's not like the console's getting nothing at all in Q1. MadWorld should be on everyone's must buy lists just by whose developing it alone (these are the guys behind Okami, Viewtiful Joe and God Hand, they have a great track record). I'm also keeping an eye on Deadly Creatures, since it's a fantastic concept and I just hope they don't mess it up.

Battle Rage looks interesting:

It seems to have a bit of a "Virtual On" feel about it. Lets hope it has online vs play.

I hope The Conduit, Madworld, and Hous of the Dead: Overkill sell well and --more importantly-- are good, but come on! This is Sega we're talking about. They could be fun, but statistics say they probably won't be. Heh, I guess we'll all just have to reserve judgment until they, ya'know, actually come out.

Be fair now, Sega gave us Valkyria Chronicles.

The two I'm looking forward to msot on that list are HotD:Overkill and Onechanbara. Slicing up zombies with the Wii remote as a scantily clad girl? What could be better right? Probably only blasting away zombies with two Wii Perfect Shots!

What is it with me and zombies?
