Well T-Rexes are/were real.
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
Easily the hardest boss in the game. This was the only part I had to look up a guide for, and if it seems like you're not making an progress, I'd recommend doing the same. The way you're supposed to actually deal damage is weird.noiseredux wrote:bossfight against Centaurs is rough.

kind of relieved you say they're the hardest. Was worried it was gonna get way worse.scarper wrote:Easily the hardest boss in the game. Huh, that's interesting, I had no idea. I had a couple of close calls in such a manner, so that explains that.alienjesus wrote:Crash Bandicoot actually allows you to jump for a second or so even after falling off a ledge, so the problem could have been way worse than it is.
I wish I'd been able to take advantage of that! Probably would have saved me a big handful of deaths.
On another note, I can't even beat the Hard mode on Wave Race 64 at the moment. My best was being disqualified just before the final round, with 25 out of 28 points. Kudos for getting to expert, I hope you knock it out soon.
That was great! Thanks.prfsn_gmr wrote:Here is a great article on Metroid Prime for those of you playing it this summer:

Any tracks you're struggling on in Wave Race in particular? I really hate the Stormy Fortress course, I've never once won it. I've never even come 3rd on any difficulty other than Normal.CFFJR wrote:Huh, that's interesting, I had no idea. My last Expert run looked like it was going well, but it all fell apart - I came 1st, 1st, 1st, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 4th and missed out on going to the last course by 4 points. It was mega frustrating because I got screwed over on courses 5 and 6th pretty badly right at the end - I shoud've come 3rd and 2nd respectively. That said, even then I would have been 1 point short of qualifying for the last race.
You need 30 points to go to the final track on Expert, over 7 courses. That means you need to come in 2nd 6 times and 1st once on average to qualify. It's pretty rough.

This was one of my top 5 as a kid.CFFJR wrote: Alright, Crash Bandicoot is down.
If you're interested in playing another Crash game sometime, I'd personally recommend 2 instead of 3. They're both great games. But the second one is more true to the original, has more regular platforming levels, and doesn't try too hard to make levels that play differently, i.e. riding the baby polar bear, etc. The third game has a TON of those types of levels. Granted, those levels are mostly good, but can get a bit tiring after a while. Still a great game, adding things like getting power-ups, time trail, and a generally tougher difficulty. But if you're mostly interested in what Crash 1 had to offer, play the second game. Or play both. I dunno. Just don't play any of the games after Crash 3. They are all shit (barring 4, which can be considered mediocre at best.)
Also, Crash Team Racing is dope as hell. If you're into kart racers, play it. It's waaay better than Mario Kart 64 imo.
Glad to hear you enjoyed Crash.

So is TRA a remake of the original?noiseredux wrote: kind of relieved you say they're the hardest. Was worried it was gonna get way worse.
My brother had the original game back in the PSX days... I could never get into it - it always felt like more of a tech demo than an actual game to me. So awkward to actually play.
I played a little Zelda II last night. Came to the realization that I can level-grind in this game, so yeah, I'll be doing some power-leveling. Just entered death mountain.
When I'm not playing the game I'm going to put my DS to sleep instead of shutting it off completely. This is because you're transported back to the first palace (with the sleeping Zelda) every single time you save/restart. Does the DS battery drain quickly in sleep mode? I guess I could keep it plugged in.

Yes and no. More an homage. Some stuff lifted straight from the original, some stuff inspired by, some stuff totall new.

It drains pretty slowly, but you might as well plug it in if you're not playing just in case. Its not something you can leave asleep forever, particularly if wireless is on.BoneSnapDeez wrote:So is TRA a remake of the original?noiseredux wrote: kind of relieved you say they're the hardest.
