So... the new Wolfenstein is worth playing. I'm about an hour and a half into it and it's delivering. If you want to go stealth the game will support you. If you want to old school guns blazing the game's got your back. If you want tactical gunsight headshotting the game gives you the tools you need. However you want to approach the problem.
Plus, you get to shoot Nazis.
What single player FPS campaign are you playing?

I am surprised to hear it is so good as I thought the last one was pretty lackluster, but yeah - it is being well-reviewed everywhere. I will have to pick it up soon!MrPopo wrote:So... the new Wolfenstein is worth playing. I'm about an hour and a half into it and it's delivering. If you want to go stealth the game will support you. I was in the same place; I basically didn't pay any attention to it because I figured it'd be meh like the last one, but then I saw a lot of positive reviews and they weren't just "COD with Nazis", there was a lot of references to how there's a good amount of mechanical throwback. You'll be scrounging health packs as you play since the health only regenerates up to the next multiple of 20 (so you will never get screwed at 5 health, but the most you'll have in that situation is 20 without finding a medkit).dsheinem wrote:I am surprised to hear it is so good as I thought the last one was pretty lackluster, but yeah - it is being well-reviewed everywhere. Am I the only person that liked the first one? I think it's kind of underrated. Sure it's nowhere near "great" but it isn't as bad as some outlets made it seem. Then again I kinda am a Wolfenstein fanboy.

Which do you consider "the first one"?oxymoron wrote:Am I the only person that liked the first one? I think it's kind of underrated. Sure it's nowhere near "great" but it isn't as bad as some outlets made it seem. Then again I kinda am a Wolfenstein fanboy.

My bad. I meant the one that came out in '09. I don't know why I said first.dsheinem wrote:Which do you consider "the first one"?oxymoron wrote:Am I the only person that liked the first one? Technically, that's the second game in the rebooted series, isn't it? Return to Castle Wolfenstein -> Wolfenstein -> New Order. Well, if you don't count Enemy Territory.oxymoron wrote: My bad. I meant the one that came out in '09. I don't know why I said first.

I've watched probably 2 hours from the beginning and it looks damn good. Bioshock like story segments, great style, weapon wheel, health packs, yeah.
Randomly heard in some comments that ex Starbreeze people worked on this (The Riddick games, which I loved and were oozing with awesome art direction). I've been craving the next good single player FPS, this looks like it's it by far.
The new Singularity?
