Post by GryeDor »

Interesting stuff! Anybody excited to maybe see a new version of the game?

been reading about this for a couple days now, and I'm pretty excited. I have it on SCD, but I'd love to see a 'remastered' full screen version that isn't all grainy. If that's possible.

They should have a 'classic mode' with all of the grainy textures too. I never actually played Night Trap, so I would like to play this controversial release with all of the original horrible FMV that made this such a shocker in its day.

I have the 32X CD version which I think is "good enough" quality and honestly I don't feel a strong desire to experience that game again. But maybe if they make some dramatic changes, it could be interesting?

I mean, the gameplay for these kinds of games does not hold up. It's all trial-and-error combined with frantic note-taking. Then you're faced with the choice: do you want to score enough points to progress in the game and win, or do you want to see what the characters are doing and learn the story? YOU CAN'T DO BOTH. COME ON, does anyone want games like that?

I thought they called that ''Replay Value'' LOL.

I have been meaning to try this game for a while. I liked Lunacy and D so I figured why not try some more FMV games. I also want to try Mansion of Hidden Souls as well.

Nemoide's right - that whole play mechanic is jackass.

I love Night Trap and I love D, but in very VERY different ways. D is an incredible game. Night Trap is terrible. I'd lump a game like Night Trap into being a fan of Jim Wynorski's movies - which I am. But heck, Night Trap makes those movies look big budget haha. So don't go into Night Trap expecting D.

If I was lookin' to play a new FMV style game resurrecting something from the past, I'd go with this instead.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

At least the ESRB will actually play it before rating it this time.

The ESRB was created by the industry to keep the legislators that hadn't played the games from creating something worse while they were pitching hissy fits about the corruption of youth.
