Well, I have started Eye of the Beholder and cleared the first level. Only 11 more to go! The interface is a bit clunky, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it and enjoying the game. The maps that Bone provided are extremely helpful(though not entirely accurate, as some levels change layouts depending on how you proceed through them, adding a nice element of surprise). Combat is probably the worst of it, though the interface in general is obtuse and outdated. Hey, it was the early 90s, it was a wild time. Either way, so far I'm having fun.

I've been getting MURDERED in this game. Made it as far as the level 3 boss.
Yeeeeaaaahhhh after sinking in a few hours into it this evening I can tell y'all - Fantasy Zone ain't happening.

Not only is it a hard game, but it's a bad game. The design is completely haphazard, just a bunch of shit flying everywhere. How this became a "Sega classic" is beyond me.

I looked up some YouTube playthroughs for perhaps a bit of assistance and found nothing but MAME savestate a-holes. Lovely.

I'd rather play Final Fantasy XIII than another second of this.

Since the summer is still young (when does this Challenge end anyway?) I'm gonna replace Fantasy Zone - with Symphony of the Night.
Play the SMS version sometime, I love that one. Here's someone kicking it's ass (I based my successful run of this game on this guys playthrough!):

Symphony is a great choice though, I love it so far.

I'm nearing the end of Crash. Just 5 (or 6?) more levels to go, not including the last two bosses.

Haven't been playing any of the others though.

Yeah I watched that playthrough last night. The SMS port looks pretty solid and it was nice to see someone do a playthrough without cheating. It's certainly a game I'd pick up if I spot it in the wild, but eBay prices are a touch too high. Maybe I'll revisit it someday, but it's officially off the list for now!

I think I'm going to play Symphony of the Night once I'm done Metroid. The original Metroid followed by a Metroidvania.

Uh huh. And when do you plan to start Eye of the Beholder?

I'll hopefully squeeze it in there somewhere. I've beaten it before but I feel like I need to finish at least one WRPG this year.

Heh, can't remember which version i put on my list but I think for final fantasy I I'm going to play the psp 20th anniversary disc I have now. I really like the graphics once I finally took off the wrapping and put it in my psp :D (though I do have a guide open in case I get lost which I usually do after elfheim even though I know where to go just have a hard time getting there fully)
My gameroom
My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.
