How to uninstall pro cfw on psp 3000?

Post by darsparx »

Ok i know someone is probably going to say I shouldn't do it but how do I remove pro cfw on psp 3000 that I got from frag? I really don't need it considering I have some games listed in it already and prefer to play the physical version of games or digital ones I've actually bought(and quite honestly the emulators i have the systems for and I'm trying to get the games for as well that I'm missing and hopefully should have them soon). I've tried booting into recovery mode(where one place says start+select+triangle and another says press the right shoulder button when loading) and it doesn't work. Is there any other methods I could try to get it uninstalled?

Why uninstall it? it doesnt hurt anything, you can still play your physical media fine, and log onto PSN....

I dunno what your asking i guess, its probably the most harmless or intrusive CFW ever!

Well just because without booting into it there's a ton of games he already had loaded that I either already have or plan to get and just don't want the cfw on there. Especially because the emulators I already own the systems for so I see no point in having it on there since the only time I want to play those games for the systems is when I'm at home anyways so what's the point of having it and all the stuff he had anyways? At least I guess that's the way I see it :(

Take out the battery and then put it back in. That should "uninstall" CFW from your PSP (and if you delete the program from your memory stick, you don't have to worry about "reinstalling" it by accident).

Hook your PSP up to your computer; put the PSP in "USB" mode; and delete the files off the memory stick. That should get rid of any extra software.

You can use the PS3 Controller charging cable to connect it to your PC and access the memory stick.

Depending what CFW it is, taking the battery out wont do anything.

Well I don't have a ps3 controller cable so I may have to go buy one or ask frag....

Never mind, I figured it out and just reformatted the thing and it looks like all the space is free except that occupied by the psp system software as usual

just fully turn off your psp and turn it back on, then you can format your memory card, or just simply delete the homebrew enabler.
