Haha, yes he is a bit too much of a fanboy to wholly trust. I've only seen Terror of Mechagodzilla and thought it was ok. From what I can tell the consensus is that Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla(1974) is the best Mechagodzilla feature.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Since Jinx pretty much gave the go-ahead I went to see the new Godzilla (in Imax 3D no less).
I was quite pleased with it (the movie, not so much the 3D part. I'm not sure I'll ever come around to that, but I was hopeful...) and I really can't add anything to what others have already said. I'm glad to hear they're making another one and I'm sure that the complaint of "there wasn't enough of the giant lizard" will be rectified in a second installment to those who care.

Glad to see everybody else is enjoying it as well. I opted for a regular screening since 3D and D-Box distracts me from the actual movie. Paid half the price and got just as much enjoyment.Michi wrote:Since Jinx pretty much gave the go-ahead I went to see the new Godzilla (in Imax 3D no less).

Zero, a few of my thoughts:
Showa Godzilla: Godzilla vs Megalon
Seriously, this movie is awful, and yet I can't help but love it for its cheese, its Ultraman rip off character, and its tag team duel between Godzilla and Jet Jaguar versus Megalon and Gigan.
This film also has the sweetest dropkick in the history of cinema:

Heisei Godzilla: Godzilla vs Destoroyah
Originally this film was supposed to feature Heisei Godzilla fighting the ghost of the original Godzilla. I've also heard claims that this was also directly inspired by a film in which Godzilla fights Satan, and considering Destoroyah's final form...oh yeah. Check this monster out:
Destoroyah grows and evolves over the course of the film, it nearly murders Junior in front of Godzilla, and Godzilla has a nuclear meltdown and dies at the end, which revives Junior and turns him into the next Godzilla.
Millennium Series: Godzilla: Final Wars
Everything about this film is bad ass.
Monster X is badass.
Godzilla is badass.
Gigan is badass.
And most of all, Colonel Gordon is badass.
Everything is badass about this movie. In fact, the Xilian leader is so badass, he goes on to become the majordomo of the Yakuza in Indonesia, circa The Raid 2.

Once I watched it, all other Godzilla films fell short of its awesomeness.

If you want a pure awesome power rush, there is no better Godzilla film. Others have better stories, but in Blockbuster moments there is none better. Who needs a plot when Godzilla beats up like 20 other monsters?prfsnl_gmr wrote:That is a very, very bold statement.fastbilly1 wrote:Once I watched it, all other Godzilla films fell short of its awesomeness.
