Wii/DS - Last day for online & DLC

Post by jmbarnes101 »

Here is your reminder that today is the last day for online play and to grab DLC for your Wii and DS games since the servers go down tomorrow.

I know the Professor Layton games have weekly puzzle DLC and I need to grab that tonight for the two games I have. I also know Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia and Guardian Signs have downloadable missions. Does anyone know of any other DLC that can or should be grabbed before it's gone? Thanks.

Megaman 9 and 10 - extra characters (Protoman for MM9 and Bass for MM10) are DLC.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord is flush with DLC.

Anyone with Skyward Sword will want to grab the update that fixes the save glitch.

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption and Metroid Prime Trilogy both have a lot of tiny DLC that need online to get.

I think that Phantasy Star Zero has a few online only missions. I could be wrong, though.

...it's kind of nuts how many games are going to be nerfed by the lack of Gamespy.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Megaman 9 and 10 DLC is accessed through the shop isn't it? I think this should still work as the shop isnt shutting down.

Prime 3 and Prime Trilogy's online stuff don't work anymore - the online component used the Wii Message Board which had already shit down last year.

Dragon Quest IX, Pokémon series, Pokémon Ranger series, Jam with the Band, 100 Classic book collection are other examples of game with free online content that won't be available anymore.

So if you don't have Skyward Sword now will it be unplayable later without this? It seems you can't download this without the game on your console.

No. You can just avoid it:

No, there is an avoidable glitch which this fixes. It's easy to avoid if you know where it is, but it does make the game unbeatable if you hit it.

Here's a list of online content affected on DS. I'm sad about the Elysian Whip in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. That whole class is unavailable to me now.

Wii content affected seems harder to come by, but some are listed on this http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/930752-n ... i/68746036

I wonder what I'll be losing out on in The Last Story?

I don't care for the extra content as much as I care for the GTS and just general online functionality for the Pokemon games.

All local now and like all Pokemon games in the past in my area no one "has" any games.

Although I will miss a tiny bit the Layton and Picross stuff. Oh well.

Kind of sad for the last story it was still quite active I played it for a few months straight in 2013. I played it every now and then. I was even part of BCD(banana circle diffusers) a group of I would say 50 people( only about 20 by may 20th) that played the last story every Saturday night.

I think it hurt the Mario kart online communities as well.
