I don't recall any times when I view my Vita display at extreme angles. But if you have someone next to you watching you play I can see how the viewing angles could come into play. As for motion blur, haven't noticed it being a problem. Certainly not enough to be notable. I've only played FFX HD and Project DIVA f 2nd since switching. Yet I find the black blotches on the original Vita model VERY notable. So we just may have different things that bother us.

But like I said, both models are more than fine. Certainly always good having more Vita users. I've had one since launch week. :) Surely I am in the minority, but I find that I've used my Vita exponentially more than my 3DS and expect that to continue to be the case for the next few years.

General question:

Any games available for the Vita that play similarly to Phantasy Star Portable?

I've been putting off getting a Vita for some time, but now that the model 2 is out I want pick up a model 1 while I can still (hopefully) find it.

I've gotta say, as a first time owner of the OLED model I haven't noticed any of these blotches being mentioned. Hopefully they won't start appearing now that I will be looking for them. :P

They don't just start appearing. It's part of the manufacturing process, I think? Though newer OLEDs on the newest Samsung devices may no longer have the issue. Not sure. If you don't notice it, great. I've noticed it on every original Vita I've used. 6 or so different ones by now. Either my own or friends systems.

they are really hard to see, basically it is only faintly noticeable one completely black screens really only noticeable when you are in a completely dark room. I was playing Uncharted and that is a very dark game at times and I never noticed it in gameplay.

Exactly. It's such a trivial non-issue that I'm always surprised when anyone complains about it.

As I said. Different things bother different people. The blotches bother me. You don't notice them. I do. You think the LCD is vastly inferior. I think both displays have positives and negatives.

Overall I'd recommend the newer model to any potential Vita owners, but both are nice. Provided there are games that interest the buyer I think they'd be happy enough with either model.

I have not played Phantasy Star Portable but I have heard other people say that Ragnarok Odyssey Ace has a lot of similarities to the PSO line of games.

I do own Ragnarok Odyssey Ace and I really like the game a lot.

Anyone else have thoughts on Borderlands 2 on Vita yet? Been thinking about grabbing a copy.
