When I first got an N64 I thought the jumper pack was the expansion pack and couldn't figure out why certain games wouldn't boot.
But yeah, certain games always have issues with that sort of thing.
When I played Magic Knight Rayearth recently I had to remove the Action Replay from my Saturn or else it would freeze during one of the first cutscenes.
Ahh, the golden years of the N64. Anyone remember what their first game for the system was? I played my cousin's system one summer and I'm pretty sure it was Star Fox 64. I'm 90% sure my first game was Super Mario 64, though I got Goldeneye right around the same time.
So I finished Path of Exile on normal and let the credits roll. Production people was maybe 2 minutes. "Community Supporters" padded it out to about 35 minutes.

Yeah, I've finished a few Kickstarted games and the backers section of the credits takes ages.

Mine was Yoshi's Story. First game I got with the system.
Second was Pokémon Snap, third was Ocarina of Time.

I didn't play until sophomore year of college; I only had Mario Kart 64, it was the only game that was in the garbage can in which I found the system :p
