So lets say people stopped making reproduction carts today, 100%. What would happen to all the Madden carts? Would someone be willing to adopt 1000's of carts to prevent them from ending up in the trash? I still have the PCBs of the games I used to swap the bootleg boards in if you want em Mike, just pay shipping and they are yours. They were just $0.25 games that had jacked up labels and no one wanted, if I didn't buy them they surely would of ended in the trash.

This, I can sorta understand. This, is just stupid.

I'm not even interested at this point explaining how obtuse it is to bootleg $15 games with no language barrier.

Mike I think your misunderstanding Onyx. He doesn't make those, he isnt saccing carts to make them. He brings them back from China, they bootleg everything there, even sonic games. They are already made and sold everywhere in China, the PCB is 100% fake no real parts, shell too.

I don't like those RPG repros like Dragon Warrior I & II, Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, etc. UNLESS they use completely new parts and shells. Saccing a legitimate game to make a repro is wasteful - especially when viable alternatives are readily available such as PC/console emulation, flash carts, or simply importing a Super Famicom version (a large number of Japanese RPGs are surprisingly playable without knowing the language, not to mention that strategy guides exist for most all of the best/most popular ones).

Is it better that unwanted sports games be thrown out than turned into repros?

Are you actually in this thread making jokes and boasting that you kill existing games to make bootlegs of $15 games that are readily available. Get ghosted.
No, I'm not. I think I'm getting WAY to much negativity here so i'm done with these.

Also, I'm someone who strives for a good reputation, no matter what if I'm doing something that even 10% of the community which I actually want to be apart of doesn't like it, no reason to keep trying to push the idea. Sorry for anyone who still wants any games, they aren't for sale here. I like this forum a lot and have had nothing but positive experiences with the people here. No reason to tarnish my name with things that are hurting it.

No you are not, you are just getting 1-2 VERY vocal people, which annoys me to be honest. Personal attacks (even if they are polite) shouldn't be used on this forum.

You're operating on a couple of misconceptions here. One is the idea that sports games are being "thrown away." Where do you see this happening? Plenty of people collect retro sports games, myself included (I own 159 according to RFGen). I would prefer to see them on the secondary market vs. gutted and turned into repros.

Secondly, it's not just sports games that are being used to create reproduction carts. Here's one list of donor carts that are used by one particular repro maker:

Someone said it earlier (sorry I don't want to go back though the thread to find it) it all depends on if you are a collector or a player.
I have a collection, but I am a player first. I have never bought a game just to have it in my collection, I buy games to play. I would rather play on the original hardware. I'm not a fan of emulation on another console or PC, Wii(U) VC excluded, so I am willing to play a bootleg/repro on the original console. I have been debating picking up Onyx's Crusader cart.

While I agree I don't want these being sold as real, I vote that they should be clearly marked and have an idea. This may be horrible to ruin shells, but what about marking them with a little hole in a certain spot on the cart like they do with used/returned CD and DVD cases. This will clearly mark carts allowing colectors to be happy and allow people who just want to play a way to do so.

Please don't cave-in because of a few members who don't understand what you are selling or care for it. Especially that it doesn't destroy existing products. I understand you wanting to stop selling here but please don't let the few vocal speak for the rest of us. I also think no one should point out individual members in this topic anymore, it makes it turn more into personal attacks. Either way you stopping selling your bootlegs makes this poll pointless and even if this site deems it ok we lost anyway.
