Will CR2025 Batteries work in a SNES/NES Cartridge?
Okay, I know the battery type for those games is CR2032, but given that I'm having some issues locating some at this time, I was wondering if CR2025 Batteries will work. It's the same Voltage at 3, so I was curious.

It will, but it won't last as long. The "20" is 20 mm, the approximate diameter (probably the holder spec) and the "32" is 3.2 mm thick. So the 2025 is only 2.5 mm thick so it has less guts to provide power. The 2032 should be easier to find though, even tabbed.

Shop on-line. 2032 batteries tend to be expensive in brick and mortar stores, but Amazon will sell you several Maxell batteries at once for a pretty good price, and since tons of retro gaming consoles and devices use the 2032, you'll always have one around when you need it.

Why? Go to AutoZone or Advance Auto or any other local auto parts store and get a two pack of Energizer CR2032s for like $5. You can get them in Radio Shack, but the stores seem to carry off-brands at ridiculous prices.ReddMcKnight wrote:I'm having some issues locating some at this time

Build an order at Amazon and get them in bundles of 5 or more for less than $1 each. Some of the vendors have free shipping.

The only thing with cheap lots of batteries online is be aware of new old stock. It's more of a problem with off brands, which you shouldn't be getting anyway (always stick with a good name brand). I've gotten in cheap off brand new old stock that were "dead" in the package (measured under 3 volts).
Like I said, that's more likely to happen with off brands and not name brands, but it's still possible. At least that above Amazon link says "best by 2017" which means they haven't been sitting around for a decade.
edit: For example, I would stay away from ones like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-5-CR2 ... 3ce0fe9787
And even if you find an off brand that lists a good expiration date, still, always stick with good name brands. Off brands aren't likely to last nearly as long as name brands.

Yeah that is why I posted Sony brand definitely avoid the off brand stuff when it comes to buying batteries. Although it looks like some dick heads are selling knock off batteries on there as well base on the reviews
definitely make sure the seller has decent feedback before making a purchase.

That's why I some times don't mind spending $2.50 for an Energizer at Auto Zone. You know it's brand new and legit, no guessing. Of course, if you need like a dozen or something, then you might wanna try and get them cheaper. Of if you NEED them tabbed, then online is really the only way to go.
