I, for one, have been dying to see you start R-Type Delta. I want to see how long Delta gives you before you throw your PS2 in the garbage and quit this thread.

Done! I start it tonight!

(You should know, however, that R-Type is my favorite shmup series and that I have R-Type, R-Type II (a/k/a Super R-Type), R-Type III: The Third Lightning, and R-Type Final under my belt.)

I also vote for Delta. I'm especially curious to see how you like it, with your experience with the rest of the series.

It is going to kick my ass, and I will hate it until I finally claw my way to victory. At that point, I will love it and dread ever playing it again.

(I am counting on my recent experiences with Nervous Brickdown honing my reflexes to the point where I can make a good run at R-Type Delta.)

Ouch.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Oh man I loooove Streets of Rage.

One reason I've never really finished Final Fight is because I played for a bit before simply switching to Streets of Rage.

When it comes to Capcom I prefer their medieval beat 'em ups to the "street" games, but I know Final Fight is pretty highly regarded.

Burn.

I actually like the Final Fight series better than the Streest of Rage series, but not by much (and probably because I spent more time with them when I was younger).

TIP: Don't pick Haggar. He is entirely too slow, and his power does not make up for it. If you are playing the arcade version, pick Guy. If you are playing the SNES port, pick Cody. If you are playing the Sega CD port, you're awesome.

TIP: Katana/Sodom cannot hit you with his charge attack if you are directly below him. A lot of people have trouble with this boss, but if you stay below him as much as possible and counterattack after the charge, you should be able to take him down without losing a lot of life.

TIP: Take it slow. The game only gets really difficult if you have a lot of enemies on the screen at once. If you pace yourself, you can get only one or two on at a time, and keep damage to a minimum. (There is a risk you will run out of time, but seriously, when is the last time you dies in a beat 'em up because the timer expired?)
