Mark! Where you been brother?! Have missed seeing you around :/
Regarding score - I didn't see any other score - when it asked for my initials it showed me ranked 2nd at 45.7, I didn't see anything else, maybe I missed it.
Dreamclub - Round 4: TBA
Re: Dreamclub - Round 3: Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000
First attempt:
One of my ol' teams rep'n all SNK goodness.
Ex Kim/Benimaru/King
SNK Groove
Score: Already passed 1Mil mark
Now this game... I can do without an arc stick (still can't find my pair of agetec
) thanks to its SNKcentric 4 button layout. Playing this game on pad is a breeze for me. One of the handful of fighters that plays well on a standard pad.
I love this game no matter how craptacular it is as a relevant or balanced fighter. So many fond memories.
This game is actually the MAIN reason I bought Dreamcast. As such it was the first game I ever purchased for the system. It was a great tool to practice on for local arcade tournaments when the game was all the buzz.

Make sure it wasn't your rank based on Groove Point score you were looking at. Scores come in 2 flavors so they are divided appropriately. If the background on the ranking screen was RED then what you saw was your G.P. rank. Push up or down to view actual score rank. The background will change Bluemjmjr25 wrote:Regarding score - I didn't see any other score - when it asked for my initials it showed me ranked 2nd at 45.7, I didn't see anything else, maybe I missed it.
Now scroll left or rite to look for your rank depending on your team assembly. Score and G.P. are divided by 4 sections which is the combinations you are allowed to play the game (teams 4,3,2, or just one fighter).

haven't fired it up yet. Hate to say it, but I feel like I'm not a fightpad dude any more. Anyway, the DC console in my Dreamcab died a couple of weeks ago. So I think I'm gonna have to swap one of my other consoles out and put it in there in the basement so I can play this standing up w/ an Agetec.

I liked it better when it looked like Mike was saying "This game is incredibly easy, I got 47 whole points!"
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

My score isn't displaying, either. I am playing on an LCD, and the VERY top and bottom of the screen are off-screen. So if the score is tucked away in the top 10 pixels of the screen, I won't be able to see it. I don't turn up on the ranking screen, either, because I have a save going way back and I can't beat my old scores.
That said, I'm actually finding this game more frustrating than Alpha 3. I really enjoy it, but the ratio system is obnoxious and I wish they'd gone without it. Also, the AI jumps wildly between insanely competent and ass-stupid. For example, I throw some double venom strikes with King and EVERY TIME the computer responds AFTER THE FACT with a move that is easily countered by the oncoming projectiles. Also, Raiden keeps grabbing me out of Ken's dragon punches. Like, not right before, but right out of the flying up should be hitting the shit out of him.
So many mixed feelings about this title. I love it and I hate it sometimes.
And I have no idea how I'm performing. Also, the points are too damn low. I'm never gonna unlock all the crap in this game.

Right now my high is like 217k and a GP score of 88.4; how the hell do you break a million?
Re: Dreamclub - Round 3: Capcom vs SNK Millennium Fight 2000
You need to understand how the scoring system works in the CvS series. It doesn't work like your typical Fighter. Scoring is tied to your Groove Points at the end of the match. Your G.P. is determined in real-time during a fight based on how proficiently (or not so pro...) you attack, COUNTERATTACK, and defend. The system grades by letter S,A,B,C and D. Perform sub par or terribly in these aspects and the system will penalize your G.P., thus lowering it overtime. Hope this helps. Ima try to beat my score in the meantime. Anyone feel free to ask any additional questions.foxhound1022 wrote:Right now my high is like 217k and a GP score of 88.4; how the hell do you break a million?

Yeah, I pretty much had the general idea of how all that broke down. I was kind of asking how specifically one would achieve that high of a score.
