Sounds like you are just really searching in all the wrong places or just have bad places near you. Quite a bit of the ones near me have some stuff but the problem is no disc on the decent games that i would actually get...mas wrote:I haven't found anything in months for a long time. That's why I gave up on savers and thrift store's. Flea markets I try to go once a month but even last year everyone at the Grafton flea market and a couple crappy flea market's, either people ebay the prices, or resellers get there too early and sell the games they picked up and double the prices, or just junk.

No darsparx I live in Worcester ma the second biggest city in ma. The problem is that everyone around here knows the value of games so no one donates them and the savers and the goodwill and even salvation army has all told me either a. People who work there hook friends up or steal the games or never put the good stuff out so they can buy it on their own or b. There are3 resellers who dont work and wait all day for the games or anything good to come out and I think two of them work together or are friends. I have seen both guys last year at savers then that sunday they have a booth next to each other selling the stuff they bought from savers.darsparx wrote:Sounds like you are just really searching in all the wrong places or just have bad places near you. Don't give up hope. I live around you and I find things occasionally. It has gotten tougher lately with prices skyrocketing on the secondary market, but even the most aggressive of resellers can't be everywhere all the time. Just off the top of my head, Worcester has two Savers, a Goodwill, a Salvation Army, and a handful of other independent thrift shops run by churches and volunteer organizations. That's just within the city limits. Also, PROTIP: check the book sales at area public libraries. Game resellers never think to check them, and people do occasionally donate games. I've made some good scores at those lately.mas wrote:No darsparx I live in Worcester ma the second biggest city in ma. I honestly have not found a gold mine from those places in about 2 years. I picked up stuff but nothing to get me all amped up like what you guys find.
Contra is not rare, just popular. Battletoads/Double Dragon is more so, but price often has more to do with popularity than rarity as demonstrated by the "Nintendo Premium" phenomenon.nullxor wrote:I found a mint copy of Battletoads/Double Dragon on NES for $20 the other day in the showcase of all places. Every time I go in there, the more obviously rare stuff like Contra is $30 but right next to it I can buy a rarer and more valuable game for half that.
Very very lucky, that game shows only one across the country available but disc only. The other state that does have CIB is already on hold. Mine hopefully is on the way shipped from another Gamestop along with another uncommon racing game that supports the Wii feedback steering wheel I have been teasing about.wclem wrote:Went to Gamestop today:
Dokapon Kingdom Wii 22 bucks. Looked like they literally stuck a used label on a new game.
With the insane prices of this over at Ebay I may flip this one. (maybe, might consider trading)
