Re: RPG Progress Report
Finished Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga yesterday. Another thoroughly enjoyable and humorous adventure. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as SMRPG or the Paper Mario games but I'm sure later games in this series get alot better. I seem to be on a GBA trip as of late so the next RPG I start up soon will probably be Golden Sun.

You'll enjoy golden sun, that one just takes a good bit of patience especially if you aim for 100% with all the djinn....(I couldn't do it I always seemed to miss a spot where the one i was looking for might be and had to use a walkthrough which still didn't help)

Final Fantasy II
Just got sucked into the whirlpool. In the Leviathan now.
The game has picked up a lot of steam, I don't feel like I have to grind as much anymore.

I'm not too far from that point. I picked up the game when I was doing a good chunk of my FFX grinding and I just took back Fynn and got the White Mask. My party is more evenly leveled this time around and I still feel like I'm steamrolling everything. If I get hit with an attack it's a minor miracle for the enemy units.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Final Fantasy II

Re: RPG Progress Report
I did a little "swap trick" grinding for three of my four party members. I don't bother leveling the 4th member too much, until I get the final one that is.
Not being able to use the "cancel spell trick" makes leveling certain magic (like Life) a pain in the ass in this game. Thankfully I probably won't need most of these spells anyway.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I got the first summon (Sylph) last night in Tales of Phantasia.
Re: RPG Progress Report
I've actually avoided any major tricks. The only thing I've done was I started by grinding Captains in Fynn with a massively stacked set of Blinks. Each one would take 10-20 minutes to down but it was a guaranteed major boost to the majority of my parameters. That got me to the point where I can walk through the rest of the game and make sure I manage my equipment so as to maintain a high evade % (so no armor at the start, then as my stats get high enough I can start putting on pieces). The only grinding I do these days is grinding up my support spells, and that's just a single cast by everyone per battle.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I did a little "swap trick" grinding for three of my four party members. The "strategy" associated with leveling in Final Fantasy II is one of my favorite aspects of the game. You can't just "press A" through a series of battles and level all of your party member's stats.MrPopo wrote:I've actually avoided any major tricks. Out of curiosity, are there any other RPGs that have something similar to FFII's leveling system?
