I take back some of the bad stuff I said about the netplay in KOF 13. If you open some ports on the firewall and then set up custom matches which rely on a high ping, you can get excellent response time. I had some good matches with someone who kicked my butt (because he was much better than me) at 2/3 ping level (4 is best) and everything was quite responsive. I was simply VERY clearly over-matched.

So, if you are willing to do some firewall tweaking, KOF 13 can be awesome. It would be nice if someone else here was willing to set up some times to get some beat-down on with me.

Just so you know, though, the current Steam community is a bit small, so you may have to play Arcade for a while in on-line status before someone hops in and kicks your butt. And they'll probably come back a few more times just to be able to play another human.

Hmm, that's interesting to hear marurun. I am not sure I will drop cash to play a FG on steam (something I've never done before) based on small chances at a quality connection, but I am glad to hear you found ways to make it work out.

Is there an online resource for specific firewall tweaking methods in order to play KoF specifically?

maru, if you'd be up for actually walking me thru such port/firewall shenanigans, then I'll keep my open for a sale. I already have the game on PS3, but I tend to play PC games far more than PS3 games.

It's not super hard. You basically just need to identify what traffic KoF generates and then give it higher priority in your firewall. Your wife's Netflix experience may lag but... Have you ever logged into your ISP provided (assuming you have one of those) router before, Noise?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Anyone showing for Tekken this fight night wednesday? Or should I just put the kibosh on anything in the rotation that isn't SF-related?

No Tekken for me, but I'd be down for SCV lessons. :D

I would happily play TTT 2, but I have it for 360 already.

And.... I don't have Live because I feel that I shouldn't have to pay for the right to play online, since I'm already paying for an internet connection. I may pick it up and sell my 360 dupe.
