No, it IS crazy. The guy doesn't approve of gay people making out on his TV. Big deal. Quit forcing people to like everything and everyone and quit forcing them to be punished in some way if they don't.

They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

This song should have won ALL Eurovisions! Even make a few up: Eurovision 1357 goes to these guys!General_Norris wrote:Because it was 2007?Ack wrote:Also, never forget that Lordi also won in 2006. But why, why oh why did Europe not give the award to the Ukraine in 2006 for this?

Still, that song may very well be Eurovision in a nutshell
PD: I was actually listen to Lordi's winning song as you posted this hahaha
I wish they broadcast them live over here. You Europeans...you've got some ridiculously awesome performances.

Just as you are free to disapprove of 'gay lifestyle' they are just as free to disapprove of your thoughts or comments on the matter.jvalentine98 wrote: If you don't approve of the gay lifestyle, you automatically labeled a bigot/intolerant by society. Wait, so your concept of freedom of speech is:jvalentine98 wrote: If you don't approve of the gay lifestyle, you automatically labeled a bigot/intolerant by society. That's basically forcing, unless you want to be looked down upon.
(a) Person X makes an anti-gay remark. This falls under freedom of speech.
(b) Others react to Person X's anti-gay remark by calling him a bigot or intolerant. This isn't freedom of speech.
Sounds like your concept of "freedom of speech" is that anyone should be able to say anything as long as you agree with them.
Certainly a very mature intellectual perspective you've shed on this argument.

"Condemning" and "forcing" are two very, very different concepts.jvalentine98 wrote:If you don't approve of the gay lifestyle, you automatically labeled a bigot/intolerant by society. That's basically forcing, unless you want to be looked down upon.
Moreover, if you feel strongly enough about your views, you should be willing to defend them in the face of societal condemnation. Certainly, various actors this country's civil rights movements stood up for their views in the face of overwhelming societal condemnation (not to mention death threats and violence). Moreover, their defense of their views eventually convinced the vast majoirty of Americans to adopt them.

I thought I was the only one who remembered that song....man I regret not going to Eurovision when we hosted it
They are streamed online for free since it's a production by all of Europe's national TV stations (yes we have those over here). But I'm not sure if the BBC allows streaming outside the UK. You can always watch the Greek streamAck wrote: I wish they broadcast them live over here. You Europeans...you've got some ridiculously awesome performances.

hahahahaha. And I will help out by writing an FAQ about eurovision voting habits.Ack wrote:Haha, Zero, I might just try to convince my friends to do that and throw a party.
Greece and Cyprus trade maximum points, the scandinavians vote one another, the ex soviet states do so too on years where Russia is not fucking invading everyone (Russian diaspora everywhere), Germany and the Netherlands always vote for Turkey cause of the Turkish diaspora there, and the UK NEVER gets voted by anyone.....also Israel somehow is a part of Europe for this....heck might as well allow the former colonies in and have you guys take part too
