So in effect, you had to pay money while the game was in development to earn an achievement that could only be earned before the game's release and only by those who had the financial capability to give them money...

Seriously?!? What a joke.

Have you tried Octodad yet? I was thinking of picking that one up. I played the demo at Best Buy Saturday. Nothing groundbreaking, but it might be fun for an hour or two.

16. Nervous Brickdown (DS)
17. Dragon's Lair (ARCADE/DS)
18. Flashback: The Quest for Identity (GEN)

I played this as part of my summer gaming challenge. I understand why it is a classic, but certain aspects of the game have not aged particularly well. (In other words, I appreciated it more than I enjoyed it.) I will write more about it in the summer gaming challenge thread.

Have you played the original, Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing? If you haven't, you should. It is a bit more traditional cart racer, but I loved it.

I liked the first Sonic Racing way more than Transformed.

Agreed. Transformed is an AWESOME game, but I feel like it tries to do too much sometimes and it's not nearly as easy to dive into as the original.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I have and it is a great game. I do like how it is more traditional, probably has the more balanced weapons and has a better roster. It's just I really like the transforming mechanic in Transformed. There are four tracks in Transformed from Racing and they feel a bit flat in comparison. I've said before, but if I could I'd like to smash both games into one perfect kart racer.

I got that last year as part of an Amazon app sale for my tablet. Like everything else I've been buying lately, "I'll get to it."

Currently replaying Easy Mode as Proto Man, and then Bass. After which I'll repeat the process on Normal Mode.

Honestly, I think Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is WAY better.

I've pretty much 100%ed the first game (Missing one Trophy, just need to hit more people with items online, which I'll probably do tomorrow, since GameSpy is shutting down really soon), and I ran into hundreds of problems that don't exist in the sequel. The sequel is a more robust game with more interesting tracks, and there's a lot more to do with a bit more complexity to the actual racing.

If the next one evolves in some significant ways like Transformed did I'd be all for it.

However, I do agree that not every track should have been Car-then-boat-then-plane-mandatory. It would have been nice to have some tracks (or modes for tracks) that were just far carts, or just for boats, or just for planes. Or if it switched between boats and planes and didn't do cars sometimes. Just mixing that aspect up a bit more would have been really interesting. I would hope in a sequel they'd make that less rigid. Maybe make the vehicle type paths unique and optional.
