Yup, I'd say both are much better choices.

Aliens Versus Predator
Batman Arkham Asylum
Dragon's Lair
Fallout
Metal Slug 3
Phantasy Star IV
Sonic 3 And Knuckles
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Vampire: The Masquerade
Wonder Boy In Monster World

Ok, so AJ and dunp both co-signed Metal Slug, so I feel like this list is pretty solid now. Some elaboration:

Aliens Versus Predator - I love the Alien franchise. And my fondness for FPS seems to grow w/ each passing year. Really looking fwd to this one.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - Dave can go pound sand. Haha. For my own personal definition, I'm cool w/ "cult classics" and "modern classics" making sense here. And I feel like these Batman games are in that modern classic realm where I often hear dudes surprised I haven't played one yet. I actually got this as a gift from SB, so I'm glad to have a reason to fire it up.

Dragon's Lair - I've watched videos and read about its history, but never spent much time playing it. I did play a bit of the GBC port years ago, but that was more to check out how well the hardware could replicate a laserdisc. I actually do have an old big box of this (Win 95 version if I recall?) but I know I couldn't get it to work on Win8 via DOSBox, so the chance is good I won't get it working on Win7 either.

Fallout - I actually considered this one getting on my Summer Gaming list for multiple years. Got it as a gift from isiolia this past year, so now I've got a good excuse to play it.

Metal Slug 3 - as I said, I've spent a bit of time w/ the first game and a couple spin-offs. About time I see one through. The recently released Steam port has online co-op, which is a nice plus.

Phantasy Star IV - I've played PS I and II, and of course PSO. IV is generally praised as a high point in the series. I already have this one via a Sega collection.

Sonic 3 And Knuckles - so back in the day I was big into Sonic, Sonic 2 and Sonic CD. Yet I never played Sonic 3. Seriously. So I figure if I'm gonna give it a go, why not go nuts w/ lock-on tech? I've got this one via Sega collection as well.

Tomb Raider Anniversary - While I was a casual fan of the early TR games, 2013's reboot by Crystal Dynamics blew my mind. Now I'm looking forward to going back and playing their re-imagining of the first. I already own this one, as I had already planned to play through the other Crystal Dynamics games in the near-ish future.

Vampire: The Masquerade - I don't know much about this one honestly. But I know it's an adventure game about vampires? I know that Stark loves it. He's got good taste in adventure games. And games about vampires.

Wonder Boy In Monster World - I've long meant to play the later Wonder Boy games. And this one looks awesome. Shrug.

"pounding sand" is a hella lot more classic game than Arkham Asylum.

Good list, noise.

I have a Wonder Boy game listed too.

Also, I'm not sure that you can "lock-on" Sonic & Knuckles to Sonic 2 or 3 on the Sega compilations. At least I know you can't on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, you have to play them as standalone games.

here is my list so far, it is a bit arcade heavy this summer as I recently got into arcade games. Last summer It was too RPG heavy and I couldn't complete it.

1.Dracula X Rondo of Blood PC Engine
2.Simpsons Arcade (Arcade PCB)
3.TMNT Arcade (PCB)
4.Aliens Vs Predator (CPS2)
5.DND SOM + TOD (CPS2)
6.Armored Warriors (CPS2
7.XenoGears (PS1)
8.Chrono Trigger (SNES or DS)
9.Final Fantasy X + X-2 HD (PS Vita)
10.Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War (SNES)

I may add a couple more since those arcade games will not take very long. Or should I combine all the CPS2 beat em ups?

I don't really have a list in mind so I think I'll just list them as I go.

-Games Beat-
1. Pokemon Silver

I got to the credits last night but apparently you can continue on and beat the region from the previous games. I think I'm going to stop for now since I have 30+ hours already logged into it.

Anyway, it was a good reminder of how addictive these games really are. I destroyed tons of batteries on Red/Blue/Yellow when they came out, so this was a pleasant little trip down memory lane. Aside from a handful of different items, Pokemon, and minor gameplay tweaks, it was basically just like the first generation.

Familiarity with the previous installment made this enjoyable enough to work through without too much frustration. I started out with a water type (as I almost always did before) and worked my way through grabbing other types that complimented each other. By the time I caught Lugia, my set up was able to pound through the Elite Four without much hassle.

Overall, it was a great time. I'll be looking forward to the Ruby/Sapphire remakes.

It's actually an ARPG and I don't know that I would say I love it, I've only played it a bit and liked it a lot, but I've never finished it, let me know when you're playing it and I'll play too.

I've been pushing for it for Together RPG so that might be where you get the feeling that I love it.

Oh man I always forget about that steamy stuff. Good deal.

Now that I think of it, I have a similar Windows 95 game. Though it's tough to get it to run properly:
