Protip: Lots of dirt and rocks are brown.

Correlary: Start mixing colors of paint/marker/whatever and you usually end up some shade of brown once enough are in there.

The less brown, the more fake things tend to look. You can do all neon like say a Fantasy Zone game or stark like Mirror's Edge or Portal, but they have a fake otherworldly feel to them.

Has anyone here played Nier? It was a very overlooked game upon release in 2010, developed by Squeenix. I beat it about two weeks ago and it's still in my head (which is the mark of a good game, in my opinion). I would definitely recommend it.

I'm actually playing it at the moment. It starts slow and the combat isn't very deep at all but I keep coming back for more. I'm a little bit into the second half of the game now.

It's not a masterpiece, but I really liked it. One of those weird little games that just seem to hit you in the right place. The soundtrack is also really, really good.

Wario started as an enemy in the game.

Like knuckles the Echidna, he has long since become a rival to the hero rather than a classic villain. Why would you want him to change back anyway? Antiheroes are more interesting characters than villains.

The soundtrack is pretty nice. Character designs are also really weird. XD

I never really thought that modern games really looked that brown. I've noticed more gray than anything else.
Among all the games you could accuse of being brown, why in the world would you choose Uncharted 2?
Because it's the game that I'm playing? Because it's the game with a joke filter for a game that has a lot of brown (one of the screenshots you posted had a bit of brown in it though not to the extent of say Call of Duty)? Because there's a segment of the game that takes place in the middle east and it looks similar to a Call of Duty game?
Go for an easier target like Gears.
I never played Gears of War outside of a few minutes at a friend's house, but that series looked more gray to me than brown.

I wish Nintendo and Sony had actually went through with the SNES CD Drive.
I don't know about this. The PlayStation ended up being far greater than anything the SNES CD could have been...
I'm with ya there. If the Sega CD, Jaguar CD, and Turbografx-CD are any indication, the SNES CD would've been a huge money-sink that'd damage Nintendo.

It would just be interesting to me to see a change up of some sort. Even if it turns out wario was tricked by bowser(w/bowser being the mastermind or something) into being evil somehow or at least make bowser jr the main villain again....

Stopped by a semi-local retro store that I hadn't been to in a long time. They've apparently started a rewards program -- 1 stamp per $10 spent on used items, fill up the card (20 stamps, $200 for those of you playing along at home) and you get 20% off your next used purchase.

I have to investigate if they have a limit. The card doesn't mention one. Because right now I'm thinking I spend $200 over the course of the next year or so (certainly a possibility) and then just save up for a couple months and drop a couple hundred all at once to maximize savings :D Their prices are pretty decent, a little below ebay average on the whole. Certainly not screaming deals, but you're not going to FIND screaming deals in this day and age at a used game shop, not with the prevalence of the internet. If you get 20% off on top of the ebay-ish prices, plus if they're still doing the B2G1 promotion they were having when I was there, then it could get preeeeetty darn cheap to pad the everliving crap out of my collection.

But like I say, I got time for that. I have to really rein in my spending right now, and I keep doing silly things like "Joining in on Mike's group buys" and "Buying the Dreamcast GDEMU"... I'm not that great with the self control sometimes

Edit: I also spent a whopping $4 to fill a glaring hole in my collection. I now own a copy of BALLZ. Hell yeah mutha trucka!
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

I got bored today, so I drew some random stuff in Inkscape:
Here's a couple vectors of the bomb from Serious Sam.

And here's a few I made of the Sonic head silhouette.
