You mean trade one of our holofoil bombs for several of their regular ones?

What are peoples thoughts on the possibility of a nuclear war in our lifetime? ("Our' meaning anyone who will be alive for the next say 60+ years)

I think we will never see a nuclear bomb unless there comes one crazy guy and launches them first. Either that, or one super-power would be beating another super-power and put them in a position where they are going to defiantly lose, then the losing super-power will launch nuclear bombs.

Of course, from what I learned from post WW2 history, no Super-Power messes with another Super-Power. Its like an unwritten rule. But if you are like Iraq, they will bomb you for 10 years, even you do not have any weapons of mass destruction after all.

Do you believe that M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) is a real deterrent for a nuclear war?

As long as neither side feels like their existence is threatened, yes I do. If we were marching in on the Kremlin I could see Russia going "well, we've got nothing to lose" and letting the nukes fly. But if we decided to kick them out of Crimea but didn't make any real incursions into Russia proper (maybe some supply bombing or something) then no, I wouldn't expect any nukes.

It's crazy to think how many people died to defeat fascism 70 years ago, and now scum like Marine Le Pen are gaining in the elections in places like France and Hungary. Europe is going to the shitter faster than anticipated. Might take a decade or two, but the roots of ethnic fascism are still deep rooted there.

I feel like tonight's Eurovision winner was just a spit in the face of putin by the entire continent

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc2t4uxHqY4

Even (relatively) homophobic eastern European countries voted for this guy, which I'm guessing was done to go against everything putin and russia stand for. (for those who don't know russia passed a law banning "gay propaganda")
