What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

I think he could improve upon his ideas by making them all more grimdark. He needs to keep things the same but then put skulls with spikes on everything. And those spikes should have more skulls on them, which also have spikes.

Oh. You and me both. Big time.

I left an incredible job because I wanted a challenge. Be careful what you wish for.

So I work with a consultant who has zero idea of what he is talking about concerning my market, and can't answer a single, I repeat, a single question I ask. Come Monday, hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn for Sega. I am dropping the hammer like Thor, and I'm going to straight up tell the CEO "If this guy costs you money, he costs me money. If he costs me money and can't answer simple questions and deflects them, he's taking money out of all of our collective pockets". Fuck this guy.

He told me "The time you spent researching the WSJ, Tribune, etc. was a waste of time. Those companies don't know business and won't be in business in a year".

Uh-huh.

He cannot be challenged nor questioned, and the guy knows dick about my territory. He is useless for my needs, but still needs to tout how awesome he is.

Smile: Threw the frisbee with the wife outside today while out puppy took a dump directly in out path. Hey, it happens. Great weather and has stuffed rigatoni for dinner. Just a great day that will lead into a great weekend (going suit shopping and strawberry picking tomorrow).

Frown: Want to talk more vidja games on the forums, but don't have much to say other than "I beat Mega Man 2 again".

Yeah...but the thing is I thought I was going to get passed over. Lately I've been passed over for the other ones I wanted that actually would've been during the day(produce, meat, you name it). But full time I can't argue that and it'll probably be close to double what I make in a week(which averages to about 140 last I checked right now). I think what i may do is spend a year in this position and see if I can somehow get cross-trained and switch to a day time position after that. It may be hard for me to adjust to sleeping during the day but I could use it especially if it means I can afford some cheap rent(even if I somehow persuade my dad to move in with me and we split it)

:D I'm alive and we're visiting Houston October 13th - 17th. I never thought I would miss that place so much.

:( We are barely staying afloat right now. We found a place to stay for a super low cost, but we're breaking even every month. I've been a stay-at-home dad and left Best Buy on bad terms this time around. That place got way worse since I left...

:) Looks like Kit maybe getting a raise though. She's been working really hard trying to move up the ranks in her new job. Hopefully she'll get promoted and we can actually enjoy our trip to Houston.

:? Found a bunch of dead mice in our "classroom" today (yes, we have a classroom in our apartment). Our landlord has been using it for storage, and a bunch of them got stuck in some cabinets and couldn't get back out. Looks like a few started eating each other and left a huge mess. It freakin' reeks in there and I'm afraid if I breath it in I'll catch something. This mixed with killing 6+ spiders a day is making me question our decision to move here...

:x I've been fighting with my Garry's Mod server all day. Player Models load, but something is up with the hands. I think Point Shop is screwing stuff up...

:?: Our landlord is also one of the leading tech guys at a huge system of hospitals in a neighboring city. He really wants me to work with him, but there aren't any opening just yet. Even if that doesn't work out, Kit and I have been talking about moving back to Houston. If she transfers, then that means I can get back into my field (web hosting). I feel much more comfortable doing that than fighting with Windows all day.

Yeah, the only time I really posted before was when I was bored at work. Can't sleep tonight, so here I am... Staying at home 24/7 can get a little boring, so I'll probably be on more often. Need to find some motivation to get through this backlog of games as well.

JINX!

Good to see you are on the green side of the grass! We all missed you and Kit. Shoot me a pm, as I have a question about the funeral home biz that Kit or you could probably answer.

Stay Gold.

*edit.

Wow. I never expected this response from a cold call:

via email:

"Luke,

I just want to say that I really enjoyed our talk today over the phone. You are a solid talented man with an immense amount of energy and wisdom to offer..."

Suffice to say I have his business, and will make sure his roi is incredible. But simply getting a response like that is something awesome.
