PBC is Power Base Converter, yes? I thought the Retron 5 played SMS games in the Genesis slot? So that would make the PBC moot. Unless you wanted it on there for nostalgic purposes?
Noooooo..... Still need the PBC for SMS games. Totally different slot/cart shape.

^Anyone else think that looks like it should be simultaneously making toast and grilling a burger?

For the what, nearly 12 months we've been waiting for it? It should do that and a *lot* more.

Anyways, my local game store (GameTraders) is getting a limited quantity of these on their site for $149.99. Yes, that's $10 more than Hyperkin's suggested retail. Srsly?

I'm still really hoping they'll add 32X emulation in a future firmware update. It would be great to play 32X games right from the Genesis slot.

Interesting point. I guess it may be possible with emulation. 32X carts fit in the Genesis slot, though? I've never tried.

I'm not sure if they fit but that would have more to do with the shape of the plastic shells than the pin connector which is the same of course, because Genesis games pass through the 32X. It was designed to not be removed once you put it on because everyone loves having two giant power bricks plugged in to play their Genesis games.

I seem to recall putting a 32X game into a Genesis 2 once though, and I don't think the homemade Neptunes cut into the plastic any.

Most Genesis emulators these days have 32X support so I feel like it should theoretically be possible.

Some guy on YouTube known as the Hip Hop Gamer got his review unit in, and even though he only showed us 2 games, they look really nice on a large HDTV.

BONUS: It looks like putting multiple cartridges in at once won't blow it up
