Propeller Arena Music Change (EDIT: Sucessful! Video Proof)

Post by link343 »

Has anyone tried this before. I do know that the files are ADX/AFS files. I've dabled in this before, but failed when trying to boot it up. Is there a way to inject the game with the files and use the same file tree as before? Also, the music file, if I remeber right, are in a huge file. If you can help me, maybe we can get a tutorial to do this.

EDIT: Done. It works. Here's a video of it:

I looked at it before and it seems far more complicated than any other replacements I've done. It is a good pick though. I'd like to play the game with something other than punk rock, that's for sure. Its good, but it got annoying fast.

Well, from what I see, the files were downsampled to mono, 32 kbps.

I thought I remembered hearing stereo in that game. Actually I kind of remember seeing tons of duplicate songs in the AFS for that game. I dunno, it's been years since I looked inside.

Ok, I've got everything done. The only thing I'm having a problem with is booting the damn disc. I don't know how to make the game bootable. It was already hacked and bootable. Other than that, its done. Could someone help me with this?

It's different with every game. You basically need an arsenal of CDROM tools. I cant take the time to guide you. All I can say is if the disc was already selfbootable, and already had a 2nd session beginning at the sector #11702 (which most burners can hit, make sure your's can by following the first half of the ECHELON selfboot kit), then you need DONT need to rehack any bins, including 1ST_READ.BIN. It's simply a matter of building the iso, injected the IP.BIN and burning the audio session then the game session.

So, yeah, works. Was easy after all. I'll get a video of the product and a tutorial up soon.

Awesome dude. I cant wait to see your picks. Also I never replaced music inside an AFS archive before. I look foward to seeing what tool you used for that, because all the AFS capable tools I have suck.

The Music I chose wasn't well thought out. I just chose some music. I think it suit its well. I'm uploading a video of it right now on youtube. I have no idea when it will finish.

Here are the songs I chose:
The Offspring - You're Gonna Go Far, Kid
Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds
Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire
Rise Against - Prayer Of The Refugee / Audience of One
Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal (MJ Cover)

I should have checked smooth riminal/audience of one before converting them to wav, then adx because they sound horrible. Everything else sounds fine.

Yeah, see I would rather try something different. Maybe give the game a powerful orchestra soundtrack. Oh and I assume that there aren't any stage-exclusive songs huh? That kinda sucks. You can't really theme the stages with new music. You have to just go with music that is uniform to the whole thing.
