The NFC figurines could be pretty big for Nintendo and the Wii U if they can pull it off right.

The Club Nintendo Rewards store is updating or whatever, so they're not offering physical rewards for about a week. Usually they just have 4 digital games offered, but I guess because of this, they have 9 right now.

Huh...too bad I don't have any games to register for it(unless my ds games can still be registered and reward points). Might be a great time to store up points if they do solely for saving up for whatever will come the 13th...I could use some physical paraphernalia(there's some zelda posters i want but I know i can't get right now)

I consider NGC a successful console. It had its edge even for a short time with stuff like RE4, Battalion Wars, Metroid in 3D, Eternal Darkness...

If Wii U is to have NGC sales , it has to keep the same amount of sales it had in the first year for each of the upcoming 3. I don't see that happening.

Isn't this why everyone quit on Sega?

I think NFC could be very profitable for Nintendo if they pull it right. After all they aim at family/kids fun. Combining toys and videogames could be big.

As for their upcoming console that should save the day, any one thought of them having a streaming games service? I know a lot of you hate this because of the lag but signs are showing that its getting better and you do not know what tech. is going to be out there in 2016. Stream to your hand-held or mini tv add-on.

For the first time in its little life, the Wii U is getting a midnight launch at EBGames in Australia with Mario Kart.

Yeah and i think for the first time next month I'm going to try and not spend anything for the first few weeks just so I can afford that mario kart bundle....don't know why but I really want it. Now if only nintendo would allow us to upgrade the hard drive to a one that's at least 10-20x larger....

They do, any USB HDD can be used as a harddrive in them. I am using an old portable 250gb drive in mine, before that I was using a 32gb usb stick.

Yeah but I was talking bout directly replacing the internal hdd. That just sounds like attaching a external one....

The internal storage is flash memory, not a HDD. There's no place to put an actual drive.

Also, if cost is an issue, Nintendo's store still has refurb Nintendoland bundles for $200 and refurbished Wii Remote Plus w/Nunchuk for $20. Even buying Mario Kart 8 on top of that still comes in cheaper, and you get an extra game.
