Is that even with co-op? Or are you commenting on just single player?

Just single player. I was never able to get an online co-op game going.

I downloaded it, and had a good time playing local co-op with my brother. I think that was the main draw-in for me. It was cool how you could split up and interact with different stuff to reach areas not accessible by yourself.

Plus, I just thought it was badass being able to team up Richter and Alucard at the same time.

I think if we could get some racketfolk interested in playing some online sessions, that'd be neat.

My brother and sister-in-law bought me a boxed copy of "Simon's Quest: Redacted" from Timewalk before they shut down. It's awesome, it's a re-translated version that was made to be physically able to beat from the clues in the game without using a walkthrough or 1989 Nintendo Power. Unlike the original, which between bad translations and straight-up red herrings becomes either "Wander around until you stumble onto something" or "Look up the answer somewhere"

So yeah -- Simon's Quest is an AWESOME game (one of my favorites), but do not be surprised if you have to go to gamefaqs.

Out of curiosity, what makes you guys love Simon's Quest so much? I just don't see any charm in it when set against either the original or Dracula's Curse.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Turns out I asked the same question 2 years ago

I know that SOTN pretty much started the series on the path it's on now, but everyone said in 2012 that AoS is the best GBA game to start out with -- guess I'll go with that!

Oh no, sir. If you start the series with a Gameboy Advance title, go with Circle of the Moon. It's, in my opinion, on a level with Symphony of the Night. Aria is a great game but it represents where the series began to go astray, in my opinion.

Ok then. I'm going to get them all eventually, I guess now at this point whichever is cheapest, and that's saying a lot

Really? I thought Aria of Sorrow was fantastic. Almost top of the list for me. I'm curious what issues did you have with it?

The story line started to get less Bram Stoker and more generic shitty anime with Aria of Sorrow. That's 90% of my problem with the game. The main character, Soma Cruz (that name, really?) is the other 10%. Castlevania heroes are generally grizzled monster hunters or apprentice hunters in desperate situations. It's dark, grungy, and compelling. A pretty boy whining high school student from the future makes a terrible Castlevania protagonist.

From a gameplay perspective, it's actually a great game albeit a little overly complicated. But context is what brings gameplay and visuals together to form a compelling experience and in that it failed me.
