Have you ever given *this* a listen? It's another Steve Albini band - I actually prefer this over Big Black.
This was a great album in its day that never quite seemed to hit the public eye at full force and has sort of been blurred out by time. I really love it though. It's a really rich and dense album, which means it sometimes feels as though it drags in parts, but it was still a well conceived and executed concept album designed around a series of audio clips Poe had found of her father, a professor, after he had died. The song structures are really tight and well written. They are easy to listen to, but also supply layers of depth for repeated listens from less-than casual fans. The production work is fantastic with multi-layered tracks of electronica-laced rock. Click the link and hear one of my favorite tracks on the album inside a YouTube playlist that features all of the tracks.
I wish she would release something new. This album's title track appeared at the end of the game Alan Wake, but she hasn't released a new album since this came out in 2000.

I really like this album too! I felt like I kinda stumbled on Hello outta nowhere in college and bought this one immediately as I liked the first one I had from her.
