Isn't the dsheinem thing a joke? I think calling Alpha 3 not a classic when he has Bushido Blade kinda made it a bit too obvious. I'm assuming most of his list is satire of some sort.

True...of course he is the one who ratted me out on starfox adventures(which I did remove because i re-evaluated my list). Though if i don't get the job I'm supposed to go in for 4 hours "to see if it's for me", I'm going to kick up my gaming to hopefully knock out SMB Deluxe. I'm on 5-1 right now(and yes I did use the warps to get that far, this game has always kicked my butt even without the warps).
My gameroom
My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.

Jesus, Heatman's stage isn't much better either - those disappearing blocks are a hell of a lot harder than I remember. In fact, it seems like the stages are where the difficulty comes into play, as opposed to the X series where the bosses present the greatest challenge. I've beaten Crash Man and Bubble Man handily on my first tries, but these stage hazards are killing me.
Heatman stage: Have Item #2 and the crash grenade.

Quickman: Have the flash item ready.

If you hate the Quickman stage, one of the legs in the Wiley Castle will infuriate you.

But the heatman stage is rather simple after a few tries.

If it is, it's pretty terrible satire. Strider, Thief, System Shock, Spyro, Wario Land & Marvel vs Capcom are undeniably classics in their genre, of their time period or of the system they're on. Ys & Typing of the Dead are cult classics which are pretty defining within their own genres. Can't talk for the others, but I can't see how this list could be anything other than genuine.

If it isnt, more fool me. I guess that brand of satire goes right over my head.

word. His list is solid. I just don't really like when people put Together Retro/etc games on their Summer Gaming lists as they were gonna play those games anyway.

Typing of the Dead IS a cult classic though. And it's brilliant.

Marvel Vs Capcom is good, though I think he should put serious time into Capcom Vs SNK or CvS2, as I think both are better than any MvC game. But the MvC games are def more "classic" and are super good and fun games.

Alpha 3 is a classic though.

Also, it doesn't really matter if I approve or not. This Summer I'm just gonna play games that I feel like playing. Which is ultimately what I do every Summer. This Summer I just won't have a list of games that I don't play.

I've played those, the latter was on an earlier Summer Challenge, in fact.

ah. I knew you had played them - and assumed you'd played the MvC games as well. But I didn't know that you had put CvS on your past Summer Challenge. I just wanted to make sure you spent a considerable time focused on one of them, rather than just 'tried' them. Which it sounds like maybe you did then. Good.

I actually beat them both shortly after that post, so my frustration has subsided (for now). I'll be tackling Wily Castle later tonight. These bosses are really easy though, I beat almost all of them on the first try.

Yeah I would think that a good chunk of dish's list would be disqualified by his own criteria.

It is a good list though. I will back anything with a Falcom game on it.

How so? My own criteria for "classic" status was that the games be regarded as the best of the best by people with familiarity in the history of the genre, platform, generation, series, etc.
