When I saw your list Ds, I thought it'd be Bushido Blade everyone jumped on. Guess I was proven wrong

I'm still considering swapping out Cybernator. I might try and beat it this weekend. If I do, I'll definitely swap it (I plan to start my list in the middle of the month).

Need to decide what to replace it with. I definitely have some bonafide classics that could take it's spot, but I don't want to put stuff on my list that I know isn't going to get finished because it's just too long or too difficult to fit in the summer alongside 9 other games.

Here's my thoughts for possibilities:

Final Fantasy VIII or Final Fantasy X - Classic RPGs of their respective systems for sure, but really long. I want to try and make sure I finish my list this summer. I'll already by playing FFV for the Four Job Fiesta, and I've just finished VII - Might be Final Fantasy overload.

Tactics Ogre - Another definite classic, but again the length is a concern

Kingdom Hearts - Same reasoning as all the above

Dragon Force - See above. Also, pretty obscure?

Blaster Master - Well, this is certainly shorter, but the difficulty is so high that I'll probably have to play it over enough times for it to take just as long anyway

The New Zealand Story - See Blaster Master above. This game is probably the hardest I've ever played. Also, some might not think this is much of a classic, but it was pretty big in the British home computer and arcade scene of the 1980s

Zone of the Enders - Much shorter, but even more so than a lot of the others on my list, I'm not sure this is really a classic.

Rayman/Rayman 2 - I don't like Rayman 1. I might give Rayman 2 a shot I suppose, I don't actually have much in the way of platforming games this year.

Solar Striker - Not sure it's really a classic, plus I already have 2 shmups on my list (if you count bangaio as a shmup)

Sega Rally Championship - I find this pretty tough, and I really don't feel up for it, but it's definitely a classic I guess.

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland - Might put this on my list instead just to annoy Dave

Anyone got any thoughts about these games?

because you've run out of classics to use as your actual Summer Gaming picks? That would explain why you double-dipped Eye of the Beholder as well.

I picked Eye of the Beholder for my list last year to play with you, but you never actually started it or told me when you would be ready to dig in, so it languished. So it's back.

I have plenty of classics I can choose from.

I've heard a lot more people appreciate Street Fighter Alpha 3 than Bushido Blade ;)

Seriously though, I like the look of your list. I certainly can't debate classic status for most of them. I've never actually played any of the games you've chosen myself.

Odd to see a couple of people playing Virtual Boy for this this year

Corrected list:

1. Strider (Arcade/PS2)
2. Thief Gold (PC)
3. Ys II (PC)
4. System Shock 2 (PC)
5. The Typing of the Dead (DC)
6. Marvel vs. Capcom (Arcade/PS3/DC)
7. Bushido Blade (PS1)
8. Wario Land (Virtual Boy)
9. Spyro the Dragon (PS1)
10. Eye of the Beholder (Sega CD)
Bushido Blade is the shit. Although, it only shines playing against friends. Having to follow the "rules" against the computers is complete b.s.

Bone and I are both planning to play it as well, since it is also the Together RPG selection for the summer. So you can play it with us, Ds, regardless of whether noise gets to it or not.

Anyway, I suppose tonight I will start playing either Daikatana or Thief. I've finished the training and the first level in Thief, but I haven't advanced beyond that. And Daikatana...I've played it in co-op, but that was nearly a decade ago. I have beaten it on the N64, but I'm wondering how much was changed between the PC release and console port.
