Yeah, SMB2 wasn't originally SMB. I love all the NES ones though, but if I were to order them it would be 2 > 3 > 1 > Lost Levels.

Picked these up today...

Hard as nails roguelike with a curry centric plot? Sounds unique, at least.

Mixed reviews but I think I smell a faint Dark Souls-y kind of vibe here.

I ordered Sorcery Saga on Saturday, should arrive in a few days. I love the Madou Monogatari series.

Indeed. Though I think Sorcery Saga is the first one that doesn't use a first person perspective while exploring dungeons? Not that I mind a change.

Interesting, I didn't know there was a much later rerelease with more work done on it. I played through the original buggy mess. My roommate at the time was a big fan of DW Bradley's older work and was excited for it. We both got it to play though as a party, but they gave up on it. Even the official patch left a lot to be desired. As I recall there was a fan patch that fixed some issues. I did push through to the end around some bugs though. Hopefully you have a better experience with the updated version.

Actually it's only the first cluster of games (episodes 1, 2, 3) that are first-person. The other games all use a traditional overhead or isometric perspective.

I did not know about the MMXII version myself until just today, definitely flew under the radar. I got it for $9.99 off Amazon, but it was a digital download. Based on videos I've watched I think I can get that much out of it.

Interesting, I definitely didn't know about that. I've only ever played the one that AGTP translated.

I bought NHL '14 the other day.

Fun game, but a bit complicated to control and I'm still trying to figure everything out. Last game I played in the series was 2002 on GBA! People who brush off sports gamers as 'casuals' are foolin'.
