Honestly, the reason I bought an Xbox back in 2002 was for Hunter: The Reckoning. I don't know how well it holds up today, but back then it was awesome - really captures that old-school Gauntlet or Contra vibe.

4 players co-op in the same room. That's something online gaming can't replicate.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Are there any xbox games with a Super Smash Bros. kind of feel of feel, well, similar to it?

Hmm...you've got your basic Capcom Collections which have a bunch of the Street Fighter games on them, but that's not really like a Super Smash Bros. type game.

Crash Team Racing was pretty good, for a kart style racer. Crimson Skies is a must have for aerial action multiplayer...but a SSB style game...

There's Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, but it's not that good - not bad, just not good.

Um...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Melee is sort of in line with what you asked, but it's not a very good game.

Rayman Arena has a light-hearted fighting core, but is also a pretty good party game...

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Don't forget that if you have access to two TV's and the system link cable for 2 or more Xbox's you can hook up and play some of these games on separate screens which is a bonus.

That is a good idea. But I don't know if I'll get that many people involved. But it if so, I've got a friends with xboxs. Has anyone heard anything about Guilty Gear Isuka? Its 4 player and seems similar to SSBM

Whats the difference between Xbox 360 premium and Xbox 360 arcade? My husband and I want to sell our Wii with 2 remotes and 5 games and get an Xbox, it just has better games on it all around. But I see an Xbox360 premium and an arcade one, whats the difference? And is it true Halo 3 is frying Xbox's?

you can do some 4 player split screen with Halo, Crimson skies, Darkwatch and Timesplitters. Maybe Farcry Instincts also don't remember.

Sports are always good party games, maybe some fifa street, nfl street, winning eleven or madden. My highest sports game recommendation goes for Top Spin, because most of the time everybody overlooks tennis games and having 2 on 2 matches is a great team oriented thing.

Xbox is more geared toward the multiplayer online factor not offline, plus you can do system link games easily with 2 xboxes and 2 tvs.
Consoles: NES, Famicom, SNES, GC, GB DMG, GB Pocket, GBC, GBA, DSI XL, N64, VBoy, NDS, 3DSXL, Wii, SMS, GEN+CD+32X, GG, SAT, DC, WS, WS Color, NGPC, XBOX, 360, PS1, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3, 3DO, CD-I, NGCD, Actionmax, TG16+CD, TE, PCE-DUO, Odyssey2, Playdia, 2600, Lynx & JAG.

GGI is ok, but the lack of autoface in 2 player matches really hurt it. The game is to fast to be missing autoface.
