A reminder i live in south america and the shipping alone of the console is 80$.
Knowing how expensive games can be in some SA countries, I'd say go for it...

I am with you on this one. When i got back into videogames in late 2006, Dreamcast was like a dream console for me(I have something for retro anything) , I wanted one sooo bad. I got one on 2008. While it is everything that it promised to be(great games+graphics for '99 system to be honest) I find less and less use of it as most games have been ported to a more convenient places.

Ex. I have my Wii hooked up with components to my cry. Should I get my Dreamcast out, set it up and play it using the loud CD drive, or just play RE2 for the Gamecube? Same goes to Skies or Arcadia.

A lot of the DC games that makes it especial are not worthwhile anymore...examples:
1)RE's have been all ported
2) Sports games , they got HD better versions(unless Tennis 2k still holds as best)
3) Shooters I bet they are as multiplatforms as it gets by now.
4)Fighters - I think they have been ported or better versions have been released
5)multiplayers like power-stone, how do I say this... you need 3 others that ENJOY this game so you can enjoy it too..not so fun alone.
6)No exclusives, even Taxi driver is on iOS now(boy, some time since its been on the arcades)

I think the only games that you would want a Dreamcast for is Sonic and Shenmue 1.

Of course you should. That's not even a question...

Also, clean the lens' pole and grease it with silicone grease...

Makes it less noisy...

Anyone familiar with the oXbox market notice any increases in value as far as games go? I have a fair number of games for the thing, but haven't been keeping up with the Ebay market for them at all.

Picked up Dungeons & Dragons Heroes today. Interesting to see a D&D game that's an Xbox exclusive. Then again, the PSP, 3DO, Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 all had exclusive D&D games.

Looks to be a hack and slash. I'll have to fire this up soon. I really enjoyed Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

A quick check of http://www.videogamepricecharts.com shows that overall the value of Xbox games is up slightly in the last 12 months. The aggregate of games hovered around $4 and it now sits at $5. Not very much value, and there are only two games topping the $100 mark (Metal Wolf Chaos and Steel Battalion). Its probably still too early to tell what the value will do but it's probably safe to say the prices bottomed out last year and are never going to be lower than the 2010-2013 time period.

Unfortunately I don't have that oXbox anymore. Anyhoo, I have 8 games for the oXbox that play on the 360. They are pretty much the only games I would ever want to own because of a direct, or indirect (spiritual sequel), relationship with sequels on the 360.

A friend in Japan tells me that the system and its games are quite popular amoung retro collectors out there. Prices have gone up as a result out there.

Speak of, I just recently purchased a complete copy of Shikigami No Shiro for the system :)

Since sales were terrible over there, I could see the prices being outrageous on some Japanese Xbox games. Like a mirror image of the Saturn.

I'm still kind of itching to get a modded Xbox so I can start importing games.

Add this to the huge list of other video game stuff I want...
