I'd like to see the list - it may be comprehensive depending how far you go w/it.
For instance I found out in the past week:
Ascii pad and pod racer are a no go, slight problem, you can't steer (need the analog stick)
Ascii pad and Virtual on are a no go, slight problem, you can't shoot. There may be a work around if you change controller options, but it def doesn't work out of the gate.
and yeah, for sure, very offputting if you don't have a VGA box w/s-video out, you have to keep swapping our AV cable for the games that don't support VGA. A list would be really cool for compatibility across the library.
How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?

exactly. So yeah, I say "arcade" stick, but what that comes down to is digital controls. So no analog stick needed, and no pressure-sensitive L/R triggers needed.mjmjr25 wrote: slight problem,
Right, right. So in my case, I'm currently using a VGA CRT right? So I don't even have the option to swap to S-Video on it. So if I bring a game down there it HAS to be able to output over VGA.and yeah, for sure, very offputting if you don't have a VGA box w/s-video out, you have to keep swapping our AV cable for the games that don't support VGA. I'd plan to always denote the games that technically aren't VGA compatible, but can be forced into VGA via a bootdisc or whatever.

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
played quite a bit of DC with my wife yesterday.
Sonic Shuffle - Seems a pretty enjoyable Mario Party clone, and looks excellent. The default settings make the game go on for-f'ing-ever though. We shut it off about halfway thru a single game (where the goal is 4 emeralds).
Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness - Multiplayer is pretty chaotic. And it offers a few modes. Fun, but nothing really amazing. I was pleased to discover that the original Ms. Pac-Man is on the disc as well. Didn't realize that.
Puyo Puyo Fever - We all know I love me some Puyo. My wife has been a fan of Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine for years, but has never played any of the sequels in the series. We had a good time. Puyo games are always "ok, just ONE MORE game" games.
Hydro Thunder - Can you believe I never played this one? Good stuff. Multiplayer is just one-on-one. I assume that in the single player you race against multiple boats?
...a good afternoon of gaming. Oh, but a bit of a bummer: One of my (three) Dreamcast consoles has died. It's the one I picked up from a thrift shop a couple months ago. It seems to not spin the disc at all when you boot it up.

I detest Sonic Shuffle except that some of the English translation is unintentionally hilarious (ACCIDENT!). Good luck if you've got any computer players since they're all cheating bastards who can see your cards.

DC CARD: REVOKED -- but reinstated now that you played that.noiseredux wrote:Hydro Thunder - Can you believe I never played this one? Good stuff. Multiplayer is just one-on-one. I assume that in the single player you race against multiple boats?
Yes, you race against multiple boats, just in the arcade. The only thing I don't like is that you have to unlock each series of tracks by placing 1-3 on all tracks in the Easy set, 1-2 on the Medium set, and 1st on the Hard set to unlock the 4 bonus tracks (Nile Adventure from the arcade + 3 DC exclusives). There is a code to unlock all the boats and tracks, but it doesn't save to the VMU so you'd have to input it every time you play.

My girlfriend and I have tried playing Sonic Shuffle together a couple of times, but it seems quite confusing. Neither of us really got it lol. We stick to Mario Party
Edit: BTW, is there any reason to import the Dreamcast version of Puyo Puyo Fever over the cheaper Gamecube or PS2 version? I want to pick it up, but I notice there aren't any copies of the DC version being sold locally and they're quite pricey.

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Noise my launch purchased Dreamcast looks like its meeting a similar fate. I opened her up and tinkered with adjusting the Potentiometer. I did get it to fire up a game for a few seconds then it stopped. It was starting not to read games for a while now adjusting the laser seem to have bought me some time. I tinkered with it for a few hours before i gave up. I may try again hate to get rid of her since it is my launch DC. Last year i did find a Dreamcast in a suitcase(in the bathroom closet at that ) at my previous residence. It had some dragonball Z stickers on it. I seem to very vaguely remember a dreamcast with Dragonball Z stickers. For the life of me cant pinpoint where it came from. It looks to be in pretty decent shape has controllers and cables.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast

I don't remember but I'm pretty sure the game will always fill in the empty seats with computer players since the mini-games are all designed for four people.noiseredux wrote:wait, can you play 2-players without computer players?
I hate them so much...
