Back in business! Thanks, Fast!

New question - how do I hook up a 2nd monitor?

I have a monitor hooked to the PC via DVI cable - works fine.

I have a 2nd monitor - can I hook this up? Do I hook the 2nd to the monitor that's already hooked up? Or, do I plug the 2nd into the PC.

I have VGA ports available on the 2nd monitor, on the monitor that is already hooked up (via DVi) and I have an open VGA port on the PC itself.

Run a VGA cable from the PC to the VGA IN on the 2nd monitor.

Ok. That stopped the first one from working. Then I unplugged the original, plugged it back in, and it worked, but screen was small and not picking up the mouse.

Then I did some magic, right clicked and went into my screen settings and selected "make this my main monitor", then it went big again and the other one stayed big.

Now, how do I flick the stuff on the main screen over to the other screen? If I told you i'm flicking the mouse toward it and then releasing the left click like a fishing reel, you might think i'm kidding, but you'd be wrong. This is exciting.

You'll want to be using the "Extended Desktop" setting. Then it's basically like one really big desktop, and you can drag windows from one monitor to the other.

1) This was a legit request for help, knowing the author's history in creating threads

2) Hirens Boot CD is highly recommended

3) Fast is some sort of PC wizard who can fix everyone's computer woes

4) Garages can be retrofitted with sails

5) Haircut is needed
