WALL OF SHAME: Existing picks you morans made that can't/shouldn't reasonably be considered classics:

-Cybernator (still not buying this, even if it was once in an EGM list)
-Starfox Adventures (just b/c a series is considered a classic doesn't mean all entries are. this one, by overwhelming consensus, sucks)
-The flinstones: rescue of dino and hoppy (old + rare ≠ classic)
-bugs birthday blowout (this one is a stretch - at best a "cult classic")
-Yugioh Double Pack (No, sorry)
-Quest for Camelot (another game that is pretty shitty by almost all standards)
-Jumping Flash! 2 (the first one could tenuously be included on a list like this for its significance as an early 3d platformer, but I have a hard time considering either one a classic in any sense of the word)
-Nightmare on Elm Street (see Bugs's game above)
-Omega Boost (a great game, but a really obscure one and not even something with cult status)
-Illbleed (same comment as Omega Boost)
-Landstalker (your impulse said no: you should have stuck with it)
-Silent Hill 3 (no SH games after 2 are worth considering a classic, nor are they very good)
-Kirby 64 (see "Star Fox Adventures" above)
-Zillion II (the first one could maybe count, this one not so much - even if it is better…both suck, by the way  )
-Mary Kate and Ashley.. (lol)
-Uncharted, Bayonetta, Uncharted 2, Lego Star Wars games, COD4, etc. (too new, unless we're gonna extend this to "modern classics" - and even then some will still not be good picks)

Fix those shit lists so that I can take your game off of this one!

I have to pick classic games?

I don't find the challenge in that.

the challenge is in picking classic games you haven't played and beating them all over the summer

@dsheinem I thought it was just picking games that you have in your backlog and want to clear out....and quite frankly all the games I did pick are ones I've been meaning to beat. Especially since i don't have that many "classic" or other games that fit your criteria. Also guess it's just me but both of the games I own that made your last as total crap games by all standards actually aren't half bad games. Especially quest for camelot. I guess it's just that I got used to how "bad" it is, that I don't notice it being that bad. I just notice it being hard to some extent. It's definitely not on any top 10 list of mine but it's underrated in my opinion. I guess I just go against the flow more often than not when it comes to some games that people say are crap because I actually enjoy them...

Well maybe I shouldn't of posted then because I really don't have many games in my library that
a.) fit that and have actually had for quite awhile
or
b.) actually want to play since I don't have the first game or two in the series....this is especially true with my copy of MM4....I want 1-3 before i even think about giving 4 a go...

And I do hate to admit it but being as critical on my list kinda stinks because you of all people should remember I'm still new to getting games(since I haven't had 5+ years and the money to do so), and it seems I have a differing view on what games are crap. Quest for camelot especially isn't crap, it's just confusing and has a really high learning curve to play. It's actually pretty fun when you learn how to combat each specific enemy...

darsparx wrote:Well not all classics but here's my list:

Starfox Adventures (GC)
[*] Dragon Warrior(NES)
Kingdom hearts (ps2)
The flintstones: the rescue of dino and hoppy (nes)
final fantasy adventure (gbc)
Bugs birthday blowout (NES)
Crystalis(I have both so may make this a double feature and try to beat both)
Spyro the dragon
Pokemon Yellow

Yugioh Double Pack (gba) (I think this is the one with sacred cards and reshef of destruction....been meaning to beat it for quite awhile)
Metroid fusion (i'm already part of the way through this i just need to beat it finally)
Quest for camelot
The game's I've highlighted in red absolutely count. A few, such as Crystalis and FF Adventure are reasoble choices too. I would even endorse Starfox Adventures as a fair option, regardless of Dsheinems thoughts on it. That's a solid 5-8 already.

Not sure about Yu-Gi-Oh though XD

Whether or not it is "crap" I won't say having not played it, but almost any game in the 4-6 range for an aggregate review score (when most games easily get a 7 or 8 simply for not being a buggy mess) means that it is far less than "classic"…it isn't one of the most important or best games of its era, in its genre, or in its system library, for example.

God Hand?

Or, more seriously, MMP got 6/6/6/7 iirc, and is a fine example of its genre, is not a buggy mess, and could certainly be a classic.

Still until I end up getting more games I'm really scratching the bottom of the barrel since you have technically eliminated most games off my list since I really have a long way to go to have games that are truly "classic" on there. I can't help it if I don't have that many games to pick and choose from...
