Thanks I will watch episodess from suggested seasons.

@Coronzilla

I am confused. South Park 1-17 seasons all for free, in HD, and no outside US restriction? I didn't see any ads either . Is this even legal?

@Hobie-wan

I understand how some movies do not pick up in theaters because of bad marketing or bad timing or maybe just unknown actors. What I do not get is mediocre movies selling a lot. Here are some examples from the top rented 100 movies on iTunes:

1) Hercules (rated higher than Wolf of Wallstreet) / IMDB score: 4.2
2) Devil Due/ IMDB : 3.9
3)The Nut job/ 5.8
4) Lust for love/ 5.8

From a different view, here are Rottentomatoes ratings for some of the tops rents:
1) Grudge Match / 31%
2)Walk of Shame / 15%
3) Home Front / 42%

@Luke

I don't comprehend Netflix's business model. For $8 you get to watch all the movies and tv shows you want? If I watch 16 movies, each movie will be making half a dollar revenue off me?

Even more confusing, Netflix probably have big costs running the servers and employing people to build and maintain mobiles and console apps.

I brought this earlier, who decides to buy digital or rent 1 movie off iTunes if you can watch all the movies you want for $8 a month? Here is a good example. I can buy Heroes season 1 for $20 on iTunes OR watch the FULL series and anything else I want for $8. :?

It's legal, it's the official site ran by South Park Studios. There are ads, but they play infrequently.

I recommend classic interface, the beta interface doesn't jump to new seasons in the playlist.

Another benefit of the site is, if you ever want to quote a South Park joke, all you need to know is the episode. If you do a search in the clips area for that episode (or even the joke) chances are it's been identified in the episode and you can link that ... like ... Oh ... Naggers ... of course. http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/1 ... television

About Netflix, it's a subscription model. Subscription models make A LOT of money. You just need some amount of user base. Running servers isn't as expensive as you think (especially if its contracted out) What the primary costs are from is licensing the actual content.

But, $8 a month from 2.3 million people (and it's actually more than that, because people have different plans) is a (about) minimum of $18.6M a month. If all those people stay on for a year that's $223.2M a year.

If licensing, and overhead costs are ~$100M a year (which sounds somewhat reasonable), that's still a current profit of ~$124M a year.

That's nothing to sneeze at. It may not be studio levels of cash. But it's a decent chunk. And Netflix, as a company, hasn't really been spending a ton, and they've been around for over ten years. They're also the goto name in streaming, right now.

The business model makes perfect sense. You'd never make this much money doing a pay-per-movie model.

Ever notice that the majority of people in the South call it Mac Donald's, and add a "'s" to every store? As in "I'm a going to Kroger's. Headed to Harris Teeter's. I need a shirt from Belk's".

Just because a movie isn't objectively good in every way doesn't mean it isn't entertaining, for one.

Also consider the barrier of entry. Renting a movie for a couple bucks or choosing to stream it from a subscription service is a far cry from paying $10+/person to go to the theater to watch it or buying a new release Blu-ray or something.
Arguably, the popularity of probably-not-that-good movies rising as the cost to watch them drops makes sense. It's lowered risk. If it sucks, well, you were paying for Netflix anyway. :lol:

With iTunes, you'd actually download the content, so if you wanted to watch it where you don't have a solid or unlimited internet connection, it works better.

Selection may be different, or better with regard to newer releases. Additionally, even older content can get taken off of Netflix due to licenses expiring.

Personally, I'd just go buy the DVD or Blu-ray version before spending $20 on a season on iTunes (doubly so since many Blu-rays include Ultraviolet or similar digital versions anyway).

I don't know where you're from that people say "I'm heading to harris teeter's". I always say "I'm heading to harris teeter". for some odd reason that's one of the only ones I do not add a "s" to now that I think about it. And I also don't add the apostrophe...so it's usually "McDonalds, Kroger, Belks and Harris Teeter".

Also anyone interested in that son of batman movie? I just happened to see the trailers for it(and yes it's direct to dvd) and looks like I might get it...first batman movie in a while(especially since young justice hit the cutting block even though it was a great show) that's animated....I was starting to miss the art style that's in that 8)

Also with the thing about renting vs streaming, honestly netflix and hulu is great for most things but they don't have everything that i want to watch movie wise(and most of the stuff is pretty decently old and i want to watch some of the disney movies that they don't have from the 90's and back)

I totally do all of this. Kroger's, JC Penney's, Belk's, the whole nine get the "s" treatment. Although I refer to HT as "The Teeter."

Update on the quitting cigarette deal for those interested:

Got shithouse on Thursday night, sang karaoke ("Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" and a duet with a friend of mine on "Take Me Home Tonight"), smoked way too many cigs, ended up having some intimate moments with the porcelain at about 3:30 and 10:00 Friday morning.

Spent Friday recovering from massive hangover, throat trashed, didn't even want to smoke cigarettes. One full day down.

Took one puff this morning with coffee, immediately felt gross. Stubbed out cig and threw it away. I think I've got this, y'all.

The way that has always felt to me was that there was a bit of implied phrase being omitted when stores were named after a person. So you were shortening phrases like "I'm going to Kroger's grocery store". I think I actually don't do it often with Kroger myself. I don't think I've ever done it with J. C. Penney either.

Unless you're referring to some other place that is "Mac Donald", the ubiquitous fast food place is actually called McDonald's with an apostrophe and perhaps influenced this speech pattern. Likewise with Macy's.

Haha, maybe that negative episode in your head will really help. Had an old friend that overcooked the drinking really badly once which had included a whole bottle butterscotch schnapps. After spending quite some time praying to the porcelain god with butterscotch flavor, even the smell of it makes him feel sick now. :lol:
