why don't you just wait and play this for TR in October?
I knew that one was in the back of my mind for some reason. So how about this instead:

1. Daikatana
2. Kirby 64
3. Super Mario 2: The Lost Levels
4. Eye of the Beholder
5. Final Fantasy V

Alternates:

6. Thief Gold
7. Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
8. Brave Fencer Musashi
9. Dragonsphere
10. Silent Hill

Kirby 64 is reeeeeeeeally good. One of the best in the series. And it's 2D, which is nice.

I fired up Eye of the Beholder last night and derped around for a bit. Funny to see that the previous owner of the game never made it out of the first room. I would have included it on my list but I'm pretty sure I beat it ages and ages ago.

This summer I am working on one game to finish. Phantasy Star - SMS. No cheats, no guides. Despite playing it many times, I have never beaten the game. Years ago I got to the final boss but just could not beat him, I will do so this year.

What, don't want to jump in Daikatana like we've been doing with Unreal?

Not a big fan of gaming challenges as it sucks a little bit of fun out of them for me, but I'll be beating games left and right this Summer, so I'll join in with a list:

1)Zelda II nes (Never really took the time to get good at it)
2) Windwaker gamecube (Was on the last stage, holy crap, about six years ago and stopped playing for an unknown reason)
3) Bayonetta 360 (cause why not?)
4) Ninja Gaiden 2 nes
5) Ninja Gaiden 3 nes (although I'm lethal at Ninja Gaiden and can beat 2 and 3, I'm not as polished on them as I should be)
6) Lego Star Wars 360 (never gave it a chance)
7) Lego Batman 360 (same as with every Lego game)
8) Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's Sweet 16 Driving game PS2 ('cause I need true classic game in my list somewhere)
9) Castlevania III nes (I've never not gone the same route before)
10) Zillion II sms (Never get tired of beating this game)

Possibles

Super R-Type snes
Gradius III snes
Death and Return of Dean Cain
Twilight Princess
Alien vs. Predator snes

Only if I get to be Superfly Johnson...and after I buy it on Gog.

Sadly I've done that with many games...that has always been my issue but the games don't provide much way to go back and train up or I just messed it up or something(probably why if I beat my other games on my list I may try to truly beat golden sun even though I can't find half the dijnn usually for some odd reason)
My gameroom
My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.

7. Metroid: Other M (Wii)
8. Silent Hill 3 (PS3 HD Re-release)
9. Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
10. Final Fantasy 9 (PS1)
With the exception of Earthbound and Silent Hill 3 - both of which I have not completed - I can attest that all of these are awesome games.

I've attempted to put time into this one before and made it to the second world but never went any further. It's time I try again to knock it out.
The loading times in the PS1 version of FFVI drove me crazy, but they did not bother me at all in the PS1 version of FFV for some reason.

Also, Kirby 64 is a lot of fun and very short. You should be able to get through it in an afternoon. (I did.)

Finally, I have not completed any game in the Silent Hill series; so, don't feel too bad about it.

We shall see. I remember having played FFV on the PS1 in the past and not having been bothered by the load times. Kirby 64 I've hardly touched beyond testing it to ensure it worked.

And as for Silent Hill, it's kind of a running gag that I've never beaten it at this point. I love survival horror and have beaten most of the Silent Hill series, but for some reason I've just never been able to make it through the first game. Either I get stuck on a puzzle or something happens and I end up unable to play it.

Done. Make Xen, xero, or Goji buy it and we'll play it the way it's meant to be played: with swords and a trio of nitwits.

Violent By Design wrote:Well, I guess I'll post my list. This was the year I said I'd catch up in the 7th gen, so I'm not going to go to crazy about the summer challenge. I might start early just to clear way for modern gaming later. Here is my list

1. Sin & Punishment - I wanted to play this last summer, but I took a lot of time trying to configure the n64 controls to my 360 controller since it was a rom. By the time I was done I didn't feel like playing, but now it is setup and ready for booting.

2. Metroid: Zero Missions - I've barely tasted any Metroid, and this seems like a good entry into the series. Might be the next game I play.

3. Kirby's Adventure - I thought this game was kinda cool as a kid, since then I kinda hate kirby. Figure I give this one a try.

4. Ikaruga - I believe this is on Together Retro, but I really want a game that will take me a while to get good at, and this will probably be my go to game for that. I've hardly played any shooters too, so it'll be hell of an experience. Might play Air Zonk instead though...~_~

5. Metal Gear game - Thinking either Metal Gear Solid or Twin Snakes, maybe an 8 bit one. I'd like to eventually catch up so I can play MGS4 and V.

6. Sonic game (Master System) - I've been working my way through completing all of the Sonic games, the 8 bit and handheld ones in particular. Sonic 1,2 or Chaos are on my hit list for sure.

7. Lunar: Eternal Blue - I beat the first Lunar last summer, so I'd like to complete the series. Might play Mother 3 instead for an RPG fix.

8. Contra - Never got around to finishing it last summer when I was well on my way too.

9. God of War II - Started breaking into this series, I played GoW earlier just so I could get the plot for GOW 2 and 3, the two games I'm more interested in playing.

10. Fallout - I love the mythos of this series, but I never got around to digging deep into them, always quit very early. Will make an effort to beat the original sometime.

A Link to the Past and SMB3 are two games I might boot up my save files to finish too.

Hmm thinking about it, I prob am gonna focus on Super Mario Bros 3.

Might throw in Call of Duty 4, y'all think that game is old enough?
